CORRECT INSIDE MIRROR PLACEMENT

Post by 62roadster »

Can anyone give me a correct measurement to mount my "inside" rear view mirror on my '62 thunderbird? I installed a new windshield and the old one was discarded before I could measure where to put the mounting stud on the new windshield,,,thanks to anyone who would take the time to measure theirs,,,

G'day.
I thought that I saw the dimensions in the workshop manual for replacing the mirror?

It is in the 62-63 workshop manual.
It is in the supplement part in the back of the book. There is a illustration and dimensions where to place the mirror bracket. It is in group 11 page 37
If you can't get hold of the book I will photocopy the pages and place them in this thread.

It's a funny thing that the 1961 shop manual doesn't show where to place the rear view mirror base on the front windshield , Where as the 1962-63 shop manual shows exactly where to place the mirror base..... Thanks Karl for posting the article I have copied it and placed it in my 1961 manual for future use if needed.
