1963 dashboard pieces
The aluminum pieces on the dashboard that wrap around the doors, what treatment is applied to them? Are they just polished, anodized, or some other. I bought new pieces and they are not the same finish.
Re: 1963 dashboard pieces
Originally the aluminum trim was anodized; usually a clear finish was used but they could also be tinted blue or beige depending on the interior color.
Currently Birdless....we'll see how long that lasts!

Re: 1963 dashboard pieces
thank you. I was puzzled by the new ones which are simply aluminum with no treatment.
Re: 1963 dashboard pieces
My 63, with the 2 tone blue upholstery, had Argent (French for silver) trim panels. Why its called Argent instead of Silver I have no idea.
It was and is RE-spray painted.

Re: 1963 dashboard pieces
I just recently bought this a dash cover, I'll use it only for when my car is sitting out doors in the sun at a car show.
