Darn it :???: I was just in New Orleans but I had to go sight seeing with redstangcheryl. If I would have known I would have been over at Van's place working on his car and having a cold one. The linkage has at least 2 places to make adjustments, I suspect the engine or trans mounts have given in a bit and changed things. The kickdown arm might be another place to look, it could hold the throttle arm link. Sounds like Van needs a new mechanic, this is not exactly what I'd call experimentation. Wish I could be more help, Bob C
It's gonna be cool when it's done
And now it's really cool !!

I've worked on several 430's and the linkage always has some slop in it. Adjusting the linkage so that the throttle plates come back to their adjusting screw is a simple procedure assuming the linkage is correct for the engine and the carb.
