soft top installation instructions
Hi all, does anyone know where I can get instructions for installing new soft top material on a 1957 Thunderbird ? I have replaced tops on my 66, a 60 , a 62 but never on my 57. Your help is appreciated, Royce
Re: soft top installation instructions
CASCO has a video on recovering the soft top.

Re: soft top installation instructions
When I did my top last year I used the following resources:
- The 1957 Ford Sports Car Trim and Sealer Manual
- Two articles in the Early Bird (July-August 1995 and May-June 1996) on installing the top (these were most helpful especially if you are restoring the top frame, which I did).
- The CASCO Video - helpful, but only with the additional information in the manual and the articles.
This was the first top I did and was pretty pleased with the results. If you want a copy of the articles send me a PM and we can work it out.

Royce:
If you have done a 60, 62, & 66 you should have no problem w/ your 57; a whole lot more territory (and staples) in those. The CASCO video is good, lays out sequence well, although maybe omitting just a few details about the ends of the trim strip at the back of the side windows and the trim at both ends of the front tie-in bar.
Before you start you may want to investigate the front "prongs" on each side (the 56 has them, I assume the 57 does also) to ensure that they will work again . You might also plan on new tack strip in all locations. Good luck!
Lew, I will be PM-ing you in a few minutes to get info on Early Bird articles.
