installation of w/shield pillar w/strip

Post by rockytop »

Has anyone ever installed the 02626 or 02627 w/strip pieces.I know they are attached by 4 screws.no glue.also a piece of the material goes between the window moulding. Is the piece made long to trim at the top? must the window moulding piece be removed or can the screws holding it simply be loosened. The weatherstrip manual is of no use re installation.Somewhere there must be info re actual installation. Any help is appreciated.

What Manual do you have that does not help... I have the Ford trim and sealer manual. on page 6-3508 and page 6-3512. should help you with your issue. Sorry I can not copy and give you the drawings...Due to copy right infringement policy and the policy's of the Thunderbird forum.

First of all what year baby bird do you have. That's NOT the manual I was referring to. NPD has the them. I have the 56(TL-1) my Ford Trim is specific to only that year. NPD has the manual for the 57 (TL2). They do not have it for the 55.

Sorry, My bad the "NPD" stands for National Parts Depot, It's a catalog that has Various parts for Mustang, Thunderbird etc,. You can Google the name and will bring you to the home page choose the Thunderbird picture, type in the year and go to search to find any part you put in. Further more you should have these Manuals when your going to work on your bird:
Shop manual 1956:https://www.ebay.com/itm/1956-Ford-Shop ... :rk:1:pf:0
National Parts Depot: item # TL-1 Imageimage upload
Jim Osborn Reproduction Inc.www.osborn-reproduction.com on this site you can find Wire Diagram Manual (MPO116)
All of the manuals contain valuable information on the year of your car.

Have you even tried to search for National Parts Depot's 55-57 T-bird parts on their website? Start with https://npdlink.com/

Re the installation of the door pillar W/striping.Istallation of this item requires removing the lower stainless inside window cover;the verticle cover and the outside top stainless cover piece. After u remove these parts u have access to an area for the W/strip replacement. This item takes about 30 -40 minutes to replace.
