First Place !

Post by ICON 1956 »

Today I entered my 56 in a car show first time for her to be judged. I won first place in my class of 1950's vintage cars plus the participants choice award. Not bad for my first time with my latest car purchase.

Congratulations. it's nice to see a T Bird win. I have participated in several car shows over the last two years, and have won some trophies -but I have noticed a strong bias toward Chevrolets. Anyone else notice this?

It is a beautiful car. May you enjoy many more wins--each happier than the last! '56 rocks!

Thank You All for your kind responses, It's nice to have a car that is a turn key. My past cars were fine but they weren't as nice as this 56. I did much of the work on the 65 Mustang and 61 Thunderbird, But they were great but not as nice as the 56 Thunderbird.
My 1965 Mustang with a straight six was ok but had no get up and go:

My 1961 Thunderbird was a complete tear down but still had a few issues and I needed to have to spend more money:

I just wanted a classic car which I have always liked with a unusual color and only 4% with this color were produced :

Although my car was built the reverse of yours (white w/ green top) which is extraordinarily rare (1 of about 32 per calculation of David Tulowitzky #'s) I just didn't think I could bear the green, especially as during the tear down I found a lot of evidence of 62 year old sun faded "almost" green. When I got the car it was finished in Fiesta Red w/ white top. What my car was born like (poorly electronically re-colored green top & interior from a picture I found on the net w/ white & blue top) appears below.

Although I still don't think I would have gone the white/green route, the color on you car is awesome! I to would like to know what you want for it.

Where my car ended up is below. I know this may be hard for the purists.

Sorry that was last year's picture from a consignment dealer the previous owner had the car. I'am the new owner. She is NFS.

Lucky me, I love the green but my wife would not allow me to bring it home because of the color.
