temperature of coolant

Post by Bud1941 »

I am worried that my 57 was running too hot... half way between the end of the white line and the H mark. I put a heat gun on the temp of the water as it entered the radiator, 193. As the water left the radiator it was 163. is this normal? I’ve never had a car with such high temperature readings.

sounds normal to me. As long as it's not puking coolant then you should be alright. Mine runs about the same.

The temp gauges in the early Birds are well known not to be very accurate. Greg is right about the temps you found. And he's right about not puking
