I hope I don't wear out my welcome here but I have another issue. Having trouble removing my clock for repairs. Dash is in place. I searched these boards and found the post that says to remove three screws from the rear (underdash), the power line and the front set screw. I did all that but the clock won't budge. It seems as though the bracket holding it in place is glued or something - I used a lot of force by hand but am reluctant to try and pry it out with a screwdriver or something until I get some advice from this board.
Any reason that the clock or bracket should not come off with the screw mentioned above removed??
As always Thanks

Re: 57 clock removal
For those of you who are interested, I was able to finally remove my clock. I had to pry it out with a screw driver. Whomever repaired it last put some type of sealer or bonding agent, like permatex or something between the clock and the back of the dash. I don't know why it was done - maybe to cushion it or hold it in place to make the screw replacement easier. Anyway, now on to repairing the clock.

I had my clock converted to a quartz movement by Williamsons.com in Arkansas. Going on ten years with no problems.

Greetings! I too have found that my '57 clock is held on with barnacle glue. Screws are out but I cannot budge it. I also tried a stubby screwdriver to try and pry it off but I just cannot get at it. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

When I took our clock out I just removed the nuts on the retainer, pulled it out a bit and took the wires off. Not sure why someone would glue it in place? Can you reach up in behind and see if you can push it out?

Re: 57 clock removal
Months later, I am still fighting a glued-on clock. Why would anyone glue the clock in place? It's secured with 3 screws. Highly unlikely that all 3 screws would fall out. Oh well, definitely not worth removing the dash.
