Mats?

Post by jereklein »

Hi
These mats? Came with my car but I'm not sure about how they are used. They are vinyl with a cardboard backing.
Thanks.

The picture you posted are not "mats" The top one is the back cover behind the bench seat, secured with snaps which covers the rag top if you have one. The second picture is the side covers for the back panels behind the seat. Left and right side note the cut of the silhouette shape.
Here's a picture of mine...

The clear piece is half of a rear deck protector, it goes on the rear deck under the hard or soft top to keep the paint from staining from the weatherstripping. Here are the rear quarter trims installed

The large one is fastened to the back of the seat to cover the springs.

Thank you all so much. I had a feeling they were all associated with that area but couldn't quite figure it out. Looks like the snaps were removed.

The back seat cover is screwed on - however it looks like the large piece is the drop curtain like icon said. The seat back cover usually comes pre-mounted (glued) on the cardboard/upholstery board (in my case anyway)

After reading the above forum, I decided to redo all four of my wind lance on my 56 bird, The originals were made of cloth with mesh netting those were getting worn and dirty and frail . The Vynal were the exact color that matches my car, plus if it got dirty they can be easily be cleaned with soap and water.. I also inspected my rag top along with the clear plastic window, The rear window was in excellent shape no scratches or rubbing marks on it. I used a soft cloth blanket to cover both sides of the window to prevent any damage to the plastic window.
