wiring harness

Post by ajabbas »

Has anyone upgraded their wiring harness to a newer one. I have read on other forums that the existing harness has problems with the 12 volt upgrades of today. Or maybe I am reading that wrong? But if you have upgraded one or switched out what have you used and how easy was it to convert your current electrical parts to it. Thanks you my electrical expertise is nil.

There are replacements available for some of our harnesses but they are duplicates of the originals so you wouldn't gain much in capacity.

I've found it's better to add separate circuits from the vehicles system. In my daily driver (PU) I've added a number of items and they all run off a separate fuse box that I installed. Keeping extra items isolated from the original wiring assures you don't stress anything or cause any unforeseen problems should some kind of electrical issue arise in the future. A problem in one system won't affect the other.

All JMO of course - YMMV!
