3 CARB MANIFOLD...

Howdy,

I've got the headers worked out, now I'm thinking about how to get fuel to the mighty 390... I've had a 750 Double Pumper, but I wanted something that had more wow factor. I consider some throttle body injectors, but the cost was over the moon. The injector carb is another option, but visually it doesn't appeal to me.

Has anyone used the 3 carb manifold set up? I'm sure it's tricky to set up, probably it doesn't put out any more performance, maybe less performance than the double pumper and I guess you would have to consider reliability.

I think it would be cool looking if it gave decent performance and a measure of reliability? Can anyone give a testimonial good or bad about the use of these?

Thanks,

Mitch

Yes, Ford Motor Company offered a tri-power 390 in 1962 and 1963 Thunderbirds. These are the rare and prized M-code roadsters. If you collect all the parts from this setup, it will bolt on and fit under the hood of a 64-66 Thunderbird.

Last tri power I saw for sale was about $2500. I myself would look at a fuel injected system. Try Fitech about $1400 or look a this thread http://fepower.net/simplemachinesforum/ ... ic=3815.45

Here's what I ended up with:

1. Holly 2 barrel carbs jetted to my engine requirements.

2. Progressive all Stainless Steel linkage

3. Heim bearing linkage where needed.

4. Thermal barrier applied to the underside of the manifold.

5. All threaded opening have been Helicoiled.

I furnished and made the S.S. fuel rail and brackets.

Looks awesome. With that adapter on the thermostat housing, did you do away with the surge tank?

Very nice what did it cost you to make that setup

Gonna need a hole in the hood for that one.

Worth it, though.
