It is true, Peel and Seal is different from Dynamat. Dynamat is thicker, that is why you have to put down two layers.

I shouldn?t say they are the same because I am not a chemist. But from a functional standpoint, if you did a comparative study you would come up with the same result as I did. Yes I know it's a lame answer.

There are a number of cheap-o sound dampeners out there - parts express used to sell some that was much cheaper than dynomat

Like dusty says -layer the cheap stuff up and it will perform the same.

On a side note -I always see people putting the stuff on bigger panels like the insides of their quarters...unless you have flimsy or thin body panels (definitely not the case of the bird) I wouldn't bother putting it on larger/open panels - I don't think its worth the time or money - just my 2 cents

What is it about aftermarket body parts, that when you get them they are almost always dented. I mean its a hell of a lot better than the rusty mess that was on there to start with.

Yeah, there's no excuse for a dent like that in new sheet metal. And that one is in a very visible spot -- it would take a lot of extra work to fill and smooth it so that it was not noticeable when you put the new paint on -- and what you paid for was new sheet metal that did not *have* to be worked to look good.

P.S. I know what you mean about the trunk space in the Bullet Bird being 'olympic size' -- but consider the irony: When the 1961 Thunderbird first came out, the single biggest criticism from the automotive press and potential customers was the "limited trunk space" (!) True story.

Well I have put it off long enough. Got all the parts lined out to install the sensors on all four corners of the suspension. I may need to fab up some brackets.
