I tried to find other pictures you may have in a postimage album, and could not find anything, which is good. Hopefully privacy settings are easier to set than in Photoshop, or perhaps Postimage does not allow viewers to go beyond the link that is posted. Something I was able to do is to right click on your posted photo and choose "Save As" and save it to my computer. This is a great feature for anyone who wants to save information for later use, or print if needed. Using labels like you did, would point out features so someone could just print out the picture and take it to the car. A nice feature that I don't know if it is possible to do through Photoshop.
PLEASE invest a few bucks and buy all the shop manuals for your car. Definitely will save you much time and be an education.

Yes, I wrote a little tutorial that shows that which died in obscurity here: http://www.vintagethunderbirdclub.net/p ... =31&t=9473

For annotating pictures, I simply use screen capture software. I have an old, what used to be freeware, program called Faststone Capture. It is now $30 to download. I pull up my photos in MS Office Picture Manager and capture a region and then use its built in editor to annotate and draw all kinds of stuff. I have another post that was a dud in the How To section that has a link to Greenshot, probably one of the best freebees. Maybe I will do a visual tutorial on that. The trouble is, most folks don't want to spend a lot of time making a post. Sometimes I will put an hour into a post, tracing out circuits with Faststone. Then I never get a reply. Oh, well, at least I learned something. That link is here: http://www.vintagethunderbirdclub.net/p ... 31&t=10102

This new software is great with the tags. The cursor is properly positioned, and the tag actually goes where your cursor is. As you remember, with the old software the dang tag would always go to the bottom of the post no matter what, then you would have to cut and paste it if you wanted to add it to the beginning.

Tom: I'm sure your efforts on things like the turn signal switches are greatly appreciated by the silent majority - I know I do, but many times hold off making a comment because of time or simply a desire to keep the clutter down. Some times the reply might be a few years down the road, and other times perhaps you've done your job so well nobody notices (happened to me all the time where I worked at  ).

The good thing is that - theoretically, that is (as long as we can keep things archived/backed up whenever our provider takes a dump like a few weeks ago) - the info is being put out there and saved for future use/reference. With that being said, I still want to encourage people to take time to also submit material for tech articles in the Scoop so that they're also preserved in physical/printed form. That's part of the reason why I like to answer some of the questions by taking time to dig into the parts books to trace down a part's lineage (sometimes that takes a few hours), so that I can come back to it in the future when I need to insert something into the OFS revisions, especially since there's so much to cover in them. And it's also good that people take some time and use the "Search" function and post a link back to the old article.

Alan,
I appreciate your reply. Yes that is true, it is there for the record. Because of this forum, I will never be able to change Internet providers . I use my web space provided by Comcast (Xfinity) to post my pictures, no adds, no BS. You just have to know how to use an FTP utility. I'll bet most everyone has this space and I would love to show everyone how to use it, but because there are so many different Internet providers out there, one tutorial will not fit all. It is too bad this new software didn't come with an improved search engine. I find it to be too inflexible and too general to find specific word strings. A "Query Builder" such as the one found in MS Access would be ideal. I was looking for references to AMK Fasteners recently, and just couldn't find a post that I knew Jim Wulf had posted. So I bugged him at his personal email address  .

Thanks,
Tom

Just testing.

Okay, I see it works.
I have just opened an account with Postimage.org.
I really like it. It really is better than Photobucket.
I uploaded 37 photos in about 15 seconds. With Photo bucket it would have taken about 30 minutes.
Thanks ABQTBird for the heads up on a great tool.

Good, I am glad you like it. Sometimes I notice an extraneous hyperlink in some of the posts that will say "Adult Image" or some other weird thing. I try to catch them and delete them. Be sure to preview your post to see if something strange makes its way in.

Taking time with posts for everyone's benefit...very appreciated. I know how it is.

One disappointment, Greenshot is not supported by OS-X (Mac). Mac users might spot a quick clue when opening a software download link, the browser will prompt you to "view" (instead of save) and the recommended media is text edit...which means you're not getting it without a PC.

I have never used a Mac. Does it come with a screenshot program by default? Microsoft provides the Snipit tool which isn't very versatile. Does Mac use an App Store? I would think one would be available there.

Yes, Mac users have the installed proprietary screenshot app which is bare bones, not equipped to do what you're doing with Greenshot. I never thought to try the app store because of inexperience and general fear of retail (I won't even go to malls  ). Now, I'm challenged to get over it. I'll see what there is if only to provide info for others interested.

I have an Android phone and there are a lot of free apps to try. If I don't like them, I just uninstall them. The free ones sometimes come with ads, so that sucks. Sometime I might pay a dollar or two for one and they turn out to be real nice.
