Oil filter housing

Post by kevindeluca66 »

I'm looking for an oil filter housing for a 66 with a 428. Please let me know if you have one you would like to sell.
A 66 Thunderbird is cool. A Sapphire Blue 66 is a beautiful car. The 428 engine completes the package.

Not familiar with a 66 Bird so what is a oil filter housing? Didn't they have a spin on filter?

I'm looking for the aluminum"adapter" that mounts to the block and the filter screws onto. The part number I have found from the bird nest is 6881A. If I could figure out how to post pics I would do it.The question Im not sure about until I call is if the top has a port for the oil pressure sensor to screw into.

I have a used one. It has the port on top for the oil pressure sending unit.

A change was made to these in '67 or '68 to improve oil flow. I'm not sure if the one I have is the older style or the newer style, but both will work on a '66 428.
