77-79 Wheel Well Moulding Part Numbers?

Post by 7879Tbird »

In the market for a new set of wheel well mouldings. All four.

I removed mine and low-n-behold, no part numbers stamped on any of them.

Anybody have any insight?

Thanks in advance.

to clarify, these are the wheel mouldings that meet up with the trim pieces a third of the way up the fenders/doors...

not the ones that go all the way down.

Part numbers for the wheel well moldings on a 1977 Thunderbird (probably the same for 78-79) are as follows: 16039--9.
Best wishes in find a set of four!!

When searching, look also at wheel well moldings for the LTD II and Mercury Cougar from the same period. At least the LTD II and 'Bird used the same molding from what I've been told.

There is not a week goes by that someone asks me for front or rear bumpers for the 77-79 Thunderbirds. No one reproduces bumpers. It is hard to find a bumper that has survived in decent condition. The only other option is to send it out to be re-chromed or straightened. But with shipping costs, the price is way out of sight for the average guy. Wish someone did.

The same is true for the wheel well moldings. No one reproduces them. Wish they did.
