Re: Dash Pad Replacement, Dash Panel Removal
Progress at last..... I know that others have made this Journey but I was punching way above my weight on this one. Combating family responsibilities, work travel and weather. Patience has never been a virtue for me, not in my DNA, this has really forced me to stay deliberate in my actions and not a...

Re: scarebird disc brake conversion
I did the Wilwood conversion for the booster, I stayed with the drum brakes, for now. Plenty of stopping power.

Lenses for Gen and Oil Warning Lights
I always do a search before I ask an odd question but drew a blank on this one. The two idiot lights in the temp fuel gauge had what looked like little plastic red lenses? When I was re-installing the gauges into the cluster I noted that one was missing and the other had basically been deformed from...

Re: Instrument Light Question
My advice? I hate to sound curt, but Bite the bullet and get a copy of the factory shop manual and electrical assembly manual, then study the schematics before proceeding further. Chances are you haven't grounded out the socket properly or there may be a broken wire somewhere in the circuit that yo...

Re: Rear deck stereo speakers?
Great discussion, good ideas all. I already have the seats out so I will look at the install in the seat apron? I did make a pattern of the package tray before I re-installed it. Not much of a project to pull it back out if I go with the rear deck option. Love the treatment / design on the rear deck...

Wiring Harness / no instrument lights
Received my refurbished dash last Friday and jumped back into the re-installation. But, I am not the only person who has monkeyed with the wiring and I noticed during the removal that there was more than one wire which was just hanging with no purpose? Prior to the dash removal I had an issue with t...

Re: Steering Wheel Restoration
Mr. O
HA! Thank you, wrong color but it gives me a spare to send out or use whilst the other is out for repair, comes with the horn ring as well which I needed to send out to plater as well.
Also ran across a re-chromed front bumper as I fell down into the ebay rabbit hole! :-)
Thanks again

Re: Dash Pad Replacement, Dash Panel Removal
Answering my own question but I am putting the result out here as a PSA. After a couple of weeks of trying I was finally able to get in contact with a human being at Just Dashes. I will not be the judge of their flakiness (I think I just did) but lead time is 6 mos and if they tell you 6 is will sur...

Re: Steering Wheel Restoration
Thank you for the response, it was "Steering Wheel Bob" who was not accepting anymore work but when I checked his website just now (06 Oct) he had taken down this statement so I will inquire again. I need to get this out the door and back. Note: I have a Monaco Edition which has a gold (no...

Steering Wheel Restoration
Pulled my steering wheel, it is in sorry shape and need of repair. I know that there are how to restoration guides but this is not in my wheelhouse, no pun intended. Anyone have a reference for a shop which does Steering wheel restoration? Note: I found one but he was not taking on anymore work, I a...

Re: Dash Pad Replacement, Dash Panel Removal
Just Dashes out of business or? No one answers the phone? Auto message says that they are making improvements to better serve customers? Sent an email as instructed, crickets? And no, I have not yet sent them anything, thank goodness. Do not want to ship something off to a black hole. Just beware if...

Re: Rear deck stereo speakers?
I missed this prior, way smart, I had considered buying a salvage package tray and butchering that but this is a good option. I may do the same.

Re: Dash Pad Replacement, Dash Panel Removal
So we all remember the saying in the 60's / 70's "Never buy a car manufactured on a Monday"... Well I think that I have lived it? First off, pulling this dash is not a job for one whose skill sets may be challenged by such a project and who is trying, oh so hard to be patient through the w...

Re: COM Shifting Points ??
I thought that it was just me. I can hardly note the shift from 2nd to 3rd and it seems to go immediately to 3rd? It sure seems to run a high RPM on the highway but it is certainly not a modern trans with 6-10 speeds? I had some work done on my tranny last year so I was thinking that I may have an i...
