Re: 66 bird rear quarter windows
Since both motors are working slowly, I would look at the tension on the spring. Also check the amount and condition of the grease in the tracks. These are nylon rollers and don't need a lot of lubrication. Grease, as it ages in the open air will pick up dirt and dry out. It then becomes glue. Terry...

Re: 1966 Intake Manifold
I completely agree with Alan. There is no economic reason to change the manifold and mechanical ones are very rare. Go back and ask for details then perhaps someone here can give realistic advice.

Re: 64 front brake hardware
Right, Rock only has the rear kit. Sorry.
I checked a couple of the suppliers, Larry's and Bird's Nest. They both show the kits for $25 to $30. One kit does both sides. I don't think you'll do much better than that.
Hope this helps

Re: Steering shaft not fitting into rag joint
The photos don't show the whole rag joint, but there needs to be a ground wire between the two halves.

Re: 1964 thunderbird filler tube / flange seal
I apologize, my fingers don't type as well as they should. I rechecked the catalog and the correct number is 9076, neck to body seal. It's listed in several of the supplier catalogs (Thunderbird Headquarters, Bird's Nest, Larry''s etc).

Re: 1964 thunderbird filler tube / flange seal
Check somebody like Thunderbird Headquarters. Their catalog shows the filler tube but I'm not sure which part your want from your illustration It could be either 9072 o-ring fuel tank filler neck to tank or 9075 seal, gas tank filler neck to quarter panel. I'm sure it is available at other suppliers...

Re: Speedometer Numbers
I used ordinary gel type paint remover from the hardware store that rinses off with water. Carefully put it on with a small (hobby type) brush, let it work, blot off then clean up with water. The type I used, won't attack plastics.

Swing Away Steering Column Door Adjustment
After an interruption for health issues, I'm getting back to completing the dash re-installation on my 64. The two halves of the door for the swing away steering column have never lined up correctly. Now's another chance to get it right. Does anyone have words of advice, alignment tricks that might ...

Sorry I didn't answer sooner, but the day you wrote this, I had a heart attack. Back home today, proud owner of a quadruple bypass. All is well.
I have 6 or 7 hinges in various states of repair (at least one original), and I'll begin sorting through them tomorrow and get photos.

Re: engine bay questions
Rt.146, It is pretty well impossible to realign the pivot when welding so that the hood will close properly. It seems that the hinge almost always closes high. In almost all the cars I've seen, the bolt is in the upper end of the slot, even with an undamaged hinge. There's lots of metal there, lengt...

Re: Windshield weatherstrip
I don't know any details of the Steele or other suppliers that now offer products, but be aware that all original gaskets and sealants for the windows were butyl rubber. Everything now is butyl and they are incompatible. Check carefully, you need to use one or the other.

Re: horn not working and issue with horn brushes
I wouldn't be too concerned about overheating. The brush is only grounding the coil in the relay, not carrying current. When you press the horn ring, the coil in the relay is energized, pulling the contacts closed to send a substantial current to the horns. The coil is a separate circuit and the dra...
