Re: Hi

64s are the best in my humble opinion. Very smart to rebuild/restore the harnesses. My two cents is first of all to assume the entire brake system from booster to wheel cylinders needs a complete inspection with an eye toward overhaul unless that’s already certified complete and secondly, test the s...

Re: Door Alignemnet

Per terry's idea above, after the splash shield (inner fender) I'd go the route of taking off the whole fender. There's one bolt that you can cut off that would otherwise be unbolted from the door jamb side, so unfortunately it's back end will be facing you; surgery will be required. All other fende...

Re: Amp meter- change alternator question

I thinking of upgrading the alternator to a gen 3 with a one wire setup and internal voltage regulation. As i understand it, its a smiple operation with a cable to the battery and a ground. But i was thinking about the amp meter in the dash. Om OK with it not giving accurate reading, but is it safe...

Not a bother. It was a private message to Lee Craner as requested.

I'll admit to not knowing any better  This is where mine's been the last 8 years and I haven't been convinced to change anything yet.

Re: Pesky valve, or something else?

sounds like I better vac test this thing while the suitcase is out on the workbench. I already went through everything else. Always best to r&r everything when the dash is apart. Keep in mind there is no actual vacuum test for the B-port which can only be actuated in the system under condition ...

Re: Vacuum Line Diagram

The Ford shop manual does not have any diagrams for the vacuum line routing in our cars. Though there are a few partial diagrams that floating around, I could not find one comprehensive diagram of all of the lines, so I created my own. I also created a chart covering the functions of the eight vacu...

Wishing to know your car MY and DSO to align pictures to car origin. You provided the car year as a 66 (MY), but not the DSO. Still interested. R DSO, what? Days Sale Outstanding?, Dark Star Orchestra?, Dental Support Organiztion?, take your pick, I don't know.. Wally beat me to the answer. There's...

Re: PCV valve grommet

I would swear I just posted this info somewhere in the last month. Anyway, I'm just finishing the same operations spread over the last year--65 fe resto, but I picked a different color for the rockers. I don't know the dimension exactly but I just ordered that grommet from the Bird Nest. It came, it...

Re: 1964 Thunderbird - power woes - just a lonely horn

Pardon if I read this wrong but aren’t you’re gonna swap to a 1-wire alt? this will never be a problem for you again. Of course you won’t have use of the ammeter bypassed or connected either way, but small price for ample charging.

Ok.
I'm not sure which post you're thinking of. The pics above are dated 2015. But, you say 2012? Have you got a link to that post you can copy?

The 3/8" is nothing. I thought you were asking about the distribution plate pictured above.

Re: Pesky valve, or something else?

how exactly do you remove this metal disk which has the rubber boot attached to it has shown in picture Thanks You're talking about the first picture? That assembly is riveted at the factory. You'll need to drill through that altogether and when finished a 3/8" bolt and nyloc assembly will rep...
