Re: Window washer wiper motor/pump constantly clicks
Karl, I had purchased a rebuilt pump a couple years ago and sent in the old one for exchange. I think I used Thunderbird HQ. Since your car had not be run in a number of years and the rest of the system needed replacement that may be a good choice if you dont want to rebuild it yourself. Turn around...

Re: I don't think these are OEM Drums
I believe the 63 was similar to the 61 but mine have 11" drums on both. The fronts are 3" and the rears are 2.5" deep. Obviously the fronts and rears take a different brake shoe. The dimensions you show are close to the front drum I replaced last spring. The 63 drum on the car and the...

Re: Power Steering
Tried the bleeding procedure and I still have some small bubbles in the return fluid. I am suspecting a bad seal in the power steering pump. I ordered a new one but looks like the weather in Minnesota is going to turn cold starting this weekend so this may end up being a spring project. I started wi...

Re: Power Steering
I will give that a shot to see if I am still leaving air in the system. The car did not have the wipers hooked up when I bought it a couple years ago. I installed a rebuilt wiper motor and hooked it up to the power steering system. Since the wiper motor is the high point in the system it could still...

Re: Power Steering
I had the 3/4 " inlet hose to the power steering pump. I replaced it anyway. It was a little brittle. I replaced the fluid in the reservoir and pumped out the remaining in the lines to pull out any aerated fluid in the system. I made sure the system was full of new clean fluid and all the clamp...

Power Steering
Today was one of my drives of the season. We have been lucky with warm weather. About a mile from home my power steering started to make growling noises as I made a sharp turn. It got worse as I pulled into the garage I had almost no power steering at that point. The power steering reservoir was ful...

Re: Any Tips for Winter Storage for our 61's
I have been storing for almost 15 yrs now and found the following effective- Change the oil and oil filter.Fill the tank with gas and add Seafoam. Run the car for a few miles to ensure the seafoam has made it to the carb. Make sure your antifreeze goes down to 20 to 30 below. Place a plastic sheet u...
