Re: Installing vacuum door locks on my 63 Thunderbird convertible.
Alan can you send me the dimensions of the installation BRACKETS for the 63 vacuum door lock actuators. I am planning to have a pair of brackets machined. If you're looking for the dimensions/layout for the holes in the door, this is what I've prepared for the article that will appear in an upcomin...

Re: 1966 Convertible with 428 and tripower
At least 1 out of every 4 (and up to 1 out of every 3) had the 428, so that's hardly rare, but still desirable. Tonneau could be ordered as an add-on from the parts counter but was not advertised as a factory-installed or dealer-available option for 66 - aftermarket reproductions came out in the lat...

Re: Unknown Button Center Console
Here's the operating instructions for the automatic speed control, along with the cover page from my reprint of the 1964 "Registered Owner's Manual". I don't have the speed control but kinda wish I did.... very nice! Inside the front cover or on the back cover there should be a form numbe...

Re: Unknown Button Center Console
The part is pulled up to engage the speed control, the wheel dials in the desired speed. When the knob is pulled up - before or after desired speed is set - I need to confirm (others are welcome to chime in). Judging from the console plate you have a 64 hardtop or convertible. I need to look at copi...

Re: Unknown Button Center Console
Do you have a copy of the Owner's Manual? It gives a description of the speed controls and how they work. If you don't have an Owner's manual they are available from those vendors which support VTCI and this website.

Re: Installing vacuum door locks on my 63 Thunderbird convertible.
No, you just need the one vacuum canister at the cowl ledge with built-in check valve and additional port to connect the reservoir to the vacuum valve. I just happened to have a second canister in my overall photo and didn't put it away before taking the picture. The vacuum can for the A/C controls ...

Re: Installing vacuum door locks on my 63 Thunderbird convertible.
Can anyone tell me if there were any in-line check valves on the door vacuum lines on the 63 Thunderbird. I also understand the vacuum control valve for the 63 were almost unique to that year, sharing the part with the '61 Lincoln. As I stated I want to install the vacuum door lock option on my 63 ...

Re: 1963 Rotunda Tachometer
This isn't a Rotunda; it's an aftermarket item. But I like it because the number font looks pretty "Fordy". https://tomsoffroad.com/parts/66-77-ford-bronco-tachometer-with-mounting-cup?gclid=Cj0KCQjw9rSoBhCiARIsAFOipln9JnvB30oX77UmtxcIjq9HddLHjDSn2OJ6-FQ7baa--UO803hf2wEaAoLuEALw_wcB And h...

Re: correct color for the engine compartment
...hope to join soon and purchase Original Factory Specs manual 61-63 Tbirds. Is this book 15 pages or 150 pages. Can someone give me more info about this manual and its availability. Any used ones I could purchase?? Also, best quality interiors can be purchased from where? Thank you VTCI's 1961-63...

Re: Installing vacuum door locks on my 63 Thunderbird convertible.
Oh, they were most certainly installed on 63s. I've parted out several with them. Components included the vacuum actuators in the doors with linkage (which are handed for right- and left-sides), vacuum switch and bezel in the dash (which took the place of the standard emergency brake warning light/b...

1958 Ford full-size car glove box door emblem for cars equipped with the 352 cu.in.-300 hp engine. Need to double-check this against what was used for the 332 cu.in. "Interceptor" version.

Re: 1970 thunderbird moonroof
Anyone have an exploded view of how an electric moonroof operates? I will also have need of parts once I get into it, any help much appreciated. Thanks I strongly suggest getting a reprint of the factory shop manual set (5 volumes) for 1970. While they cover all Ford-Mercury-Lincoln models, they co...

Re: Air cleaner question 65 HT
THIS is why I wanted to see a fuller photo of your engine bay - YOU DON'T HAVE A '65 STYLE AIR CLEANER to begin with ! What you have appears to be a '68 or '69 version (a look at the air intake/snorkle confirms that for me), which makes me suspect the original engine was replaced with a 390 out of a...

Re: Air cleaner question 65 HT
I have a question on my air cleaner in the 65 tbird (I’m a little new to the tbird restoration). There is this plastic breather pipe going from where the oil cap would be - it is running into the air cleaner. It is very loose. I would like to get one of these oil cap breathers vs the breather tube....
