BE SURE to get the right gasket for this carb. The Autolite 4bbl in this car uses a unique and increasingly hard to find gasket. I can't remember the details off the top of my head, but if you call Pony Carbs (I got my rebuilt carb, etc, from them) I know they have the answers - and perhaps the gask...

Sway Bars
Can't give you a model, but I added a heavy duty front sway bar to my '62 SR and it made a huge difference in how it drives. My front upper shock bushings were also shot at the time, and replacing those and the sway bar helped a lot. Also did an "old school" front end alignment, since no o...

I was thinking the same as both of these folks. The car sounds like it was dredged out of a lake at some point, or perhaps the victim of a flood, and I would also save the beautifying until after the electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, etc, etc, was completely right. Since it's an M Roadster, whateve...

Pony Carbs
In my own opinion, there is nobody better than Pony Carburetor. They are not the cheapest out there, but I do not know how you could get a better carb or better service. I got a rebuilt Autolite for my 62 SR from them and have never had a lick of trouble with it.

Solid State Kit
Could someone please post a source for this kit. I think I'm going to want to do this.
Thanks.

I have had an interesting and fun collection of cars over the years, Porsche, Corvettes, a 57 Buick Convertible but my red Sports Roadster is far and away the most head-turning thing I have ever owned. I get tourists here in Philadelphia who run up to have their pictures taken next to it - I can't e...

Close Encounters of the Bird Kind
I have my 62 SR running nicely these days and along came some absolutely perfect weather, so I put the top down and headed to the Jersey shore. Stopped to look (briefly) at a 55 for sale at a gas station (23K, a little rough). When I got to the shoreline road, what is coming back the other way but a...

Seemed pretty straightforward to me.

Two things occur to me on this; one, that if it's okay to change to a body color that is correct for the year, it ought to be okay for the interior, but second, I was surprised to see the rule on body color and thought that the data plate should match the car. Then I was thinking that if I did go nu...

interior color
No takers on this question, I guess.
Just wanted to know if it would be worth the expense to go back to the correct interior color. I would like to bring the car to showable condition, since I think it's close now, and don't know how much this matters.
