Engine stumble after running

Sorry for the long post. I have what I consider to be an odd problem. At little background: I took the top end (intake, heads, radiator, etc) off the engine of my '63HT last fall to repair an exhaust leak and repaint & detail under the hood because the car sat for roughly 20 years and was very d...

Yep, I'm pretty lucky.... I think. She's the one that convinced me to buy this car but at the same time it's a family car that my Dad restored some 20+ years ago. When he passed the car sat in the garage until my wife and I bought it recently. The wife does help out quite a bit and never has a probl...

Thanks Jim!

Just a note of thanks to Jim Wulf for providing the 4V engine compartment photos on his website. My wife and I took the top of the engine apart on our '63HTand repainted it. Those pictures were invaluable when putting it all back together. Ours came out nice for car we take to a cruise now and then....

Color of dipstick housing

Hi All,

What's the correct color for the dipstick housing on my '63 HT? I'm repainting the engine but haven't been able to find the information regarding this part.

Thank you.

I bought one from Bird Nest in Oregon for my '63 HT. Fit & finish were really good.

Power Steering Pulley

Hopefully just a quick question. Is the power steering pump pulley on my 63 HT (no A/C) pressed on? I'm doing some clean-up under the hood and I want to remove the PS pump from the bracket so I can paint them. The shop manual just says remove pulley. Thanks guys. The forum has been very helpful! Thanks Matt for the explanation. It certainly makes sense from my perspective. At the risk of taking this thread off topic, I bought my 1963 HT from Mom a couple of years ago. Dad restored it as a driver and he and Mom had lots of fun with it before he passed almost 20 years ago. The car sat idle al...

Vince, I appreciate your point and don't think for a minute I haven't considered what you're saying. I run a small manufacturing business and can't count the number of times I've lost work to overseas suppliers. That being said I simply can't ignore the financial side either. After doing more diggin...

Aftermarket radiators

Hi Guys, Radiator on my '63 HT is leaking and is in need of a new core. I can have mine re-cored for around $460 and a new one from our local Thunderbird parts supplier is $400. My radiator shop guy says a new radiator is most likely made off-shore and the quality isn't as good and I tend to agree b...

Check to be sure it is grounding properly too. I've seen a bad ground do lots of strange things with tail/brake lights.

I just completed moving the power seat in my '63 HT hard top back 2 3/8". I just drilled new holes thru the bottom of the body and made a 1" spacer for the front mounts on the seat because the it mounts on a raised area originally and moving the seat requires the spacer for proper height. ...
