Funny my 'new' sender quit a week ago, lasted only a couple of months. Got a NOS one and swapped the plastic float for the brass. The aftermarket sender had two faults, one on the rivit that went into the black plastic connecter for the plug and at the actual plate where the arm connects. The wire w...

Man, I was just in Portland then over to Hood River for a wedding, wish I had known I would have stopped by. Contact the Bird Nest right there in West Linn if you have any issues you cant solve. I stopped by and chatted about the lower steering column bushing and was able to get mine done pretty qui...

Kind of a strange switch Ford used here, when it fails the motor comes on, most switches when they fail you cant operate the motor. Poor quality switch, even the repos only last a few years then they warp and wont fit in the little bracket and whirrrrrrrr goes the motor. I keep 2-3 in the tool box n...

Ditto ...

Mine are also in the notch closest to the back seat and pointing down.

There is a ton of tension on these so prop the trunk open and protect yourself and the area from the rear vent to the trunk opening...just in case...

I did this on my 65 convert. Not a tough job at all, I have an impact wrench which made removal easy. Couple words of caution. First support everything, be safe!!!!! Wear gloves and goggles!!!!! The suprise Ihad was my car had been in a rear end collision some point in its life, and there was some t...

David - The ROT sheet could be under the carpet or the Driver's side rear- upper seat cushion. My 65 convert had one taped to the underside of the package tray and one under the carpet. My 65 coupe had one under the springs on the rear upper cushion. The 'Inspection' sheet is a great find, thanks fo...

Hmmm make sure they have a good ground. Manually ground to the battery with a jumper and see if it functions.

Hmmm July 85 would be at the end of the production year so your 85 could have some 86 parts. My Dad purchased a new standard model V8 '85 and when the third tail lamp was introduced on the '86 like three weeks later he went back to Ford and at no charge they added along with a full size spare...whic...

I have always opened the trunk and removed the fill tube cover and just twisted the filler tube right off, easy to do. I did make a tool similar to the one in the manual but I just used an old gas cap, drilled it out and ran a threaded rod through it with a couple nuts to hold the rod and a flat pie...

I had an issue with a set from Kanter years ago. looked the same, as yours does. When i got a micrometer out they were just a tad bit too large, too long ago to remember the exact amount, but it was tiny. Kanter replaced ASAP, but all the asian made replacements were the same, got a NOS set to solve...
