... I think the issue you may run across is getting a shop That wants to work on it because of time and part issues. But there are shop that will. Cliff thanks guys, yes indeed Cliff, my usual body guy doesn't want to do it! when i first met him he was doing some classics or maybe they were just ol...

front frame body work

we need to have someone successfully pull and square the front body, and straighten one of the front rails (where the bumper brackets attach) and aprons on a bullet bird that suffered a front corner collision. the '62 manual says that the procedures are not much different than body-on-frame techniqu...

Re: what floor mat color for turquoise interior 1963?

thanks, guys. nice photo, Chris - your interior is looking sharp! you're right - they look a lot different in your car than they do in the sample photo. i was gonna make the hour drive to Larry's to have a look, now i feel like i don't have to, thanks! although i'm always open to a reason to get out...

Alan, do you recall which supplier you got your Turquoise mats from?
i'm revisiting this, and am seeing conflicting images over a few of the oft-used Bird supplier sites.

Re: elusive steelie rims (will '60 Squarebird rims fit on my '63 for sure?)

Question, if your in California, what does some of them Old car yards say like Desert classics ? I purchased A rear bumper from one of these Guys not too long ago. that's a good question, Cliff. i haven't sought out a classic yard yet, as i have always had good luck finding old wheels from craigsli...

elusive steelie rims

thanks, fellers. i'm in Los Angeles, so the pickins are generally good. finding the 62mm (2-7/16") opening is tricky so far though. i can't even find a 62mm spec for any of the commercially available hub spacers. i found sources for the wheel covers and white walls, but a proper set of steelies...

Re: will '60 Squarebird rims fit on my '63 for sure?

thanks Alan, that makes sense. i’m wondering how common these ‘63 wheels are, then. did they continue to be used in other subsequent Fords once the Tbird went to 15”? is there a generic term for these wheels? i was hoping to find a used set locally over craigslist or ebay, but i don’t really see suc...

Re: Tire options for a 63

Say, Cliff - just to clarify -

on the Hankooks,
did you go with 215/75R14 again?
and skirt clearance is good?

i'm looking for an affordable stock looking set up for some possible movie work.
then will most often go back to my vintage mags.

cheers!

elusive steelie rims (will '60 Squarebird rims fit on my '63 for sure?)

i'm looking to go back to a stock wheel to accommodate an original look for a film shoot. i found some '63 covers with spinners that should look great. but i need some stock wheels. locally i see a set of four from a 1960 Squarebird listed for sale. his ad states: 14"x6", 5x4.5" bolt ...

Re: Why Didn't Ford go with 15 inch wheels...

it's possible they may have downsized the wheel/tire because of the overall weight gain from the baby birds. a smaller wheel/tire is quicker off the line, and is more fuel efficient in local driving (though a bigger tire can give better long-distance highway gas mileage). the early Corvettes had 15&...
