So I purchased the OFS manual, volume 2. The information isn't specific enough to determine the paint color - just white. Unless I missed something....
Hoping someone can find a specific paint code, otherwise I'm going to have to purchase another wheel cover.

Re: 57 hubcap center paint colour
I have had the same question regarding the color and haven't been able to find a paint code or color "name" so I can fix the small rust spots on one of mine. I checked with some older Ford friends and looked in some old manuals that my brother-in-law had from his early days with Ford. Is t...

Re: Restore or Leave As Is?
I was lucky enough last year to acquire a 57 from the original owner's daughter when she was working on settling the estate. The car is in excellent condition with 77,000 miles. Most everything is original with no rust and really decent paint - the usual chips and scratches you would expect in a 60-...

Re: How rare are the E-code 57s
Mine has a 4 bbl Holley on it now and runs fine. It is by no means a daily driver - both of my birds are running antique tags and are trailered to shows more than 100 miles from home. I purchased the set-up to give me the means to return it to as close to original as I can (really the only non-origi...

Re: How rare are the E-code 57s
Got a 2-4 set-up at the Ford Nationals last week. Intake is in excellent condition with date code that is within 30 days of car coming off the line. Carbs are in excellent condition with no indication that they have ever been apart so may have to rebuild - checking with a couple of carb guys for the...

Re: Decode Factory Invoice
Confirming STD is standard trans without OD. Mine shows that the 312 8V eng with STD was a cost of $151.35. I can't barely buy the air filters for that amount today!

Re: Appreciation Day
Weather here finally cleared up enough so I took the Super Coupe out this afternoon for a couple of hours. Unfortunately the 57 is still sitting without bumpers - poor health has hindered my plan to get it put back together and on the road again. I was disappointed that I didn't see another bird on ...

Re: Need to re-chrome rear bumper
My thought as well. I picked them up at the Carlisle show, but didn't want to unwrap them and inspect them (didn't think it was necessary) only to re-wrap them for the long ride home. Unwrapped them when I got home and found the bubbles. Hope to have it back within a week or two so I can get it back...

Re: Need to re-chrome rear bumper
I got the bumpers home on Sunday, but found some bubbles in the left front bumperette. One phone call to Mitch at Labrandi's and it's back in PA getting re-plated. The rest is perfect! I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.
Will post more pics once everything is back together.

Re: Need to re-chrome rear bumper
Finally got the call a little over a week ago that the bumpers are ready. Headed up to Carlisle on Wednesday and will meet up with Labrandi folks at the show to pick up the bumpers. I'll post some pics when I get back. I certainly didn't get as much done on the car as I thought I would while the bum...

Re: Trying to find out if this car is considered an early car, and
Not sure if it holds true, but several references cite early 57 birds as having the medallion stamped into the vinyl in the middle of the seat back. Later models did not have the medallion.

Re: Lift jack
The Bendpak was $1995. I have the name of the rep I used - I can send it if you want. Going direct saved some money - shipping was free and liftgate service was next to nothing. It is extremely sturdy, well-built, and easy enough to move around the garage as needed. Runs on 110 with no issue on a 20...

Re: Lift jack
Andy, I purchased a Bendpak MD-6XP for my garage. I went with the mid-rise since I only have 9 ft. ceilings. I've used it for both birds, but not the daily drivers. It works well for suspension, brake work, etc. Not easy to do any exhaust work or tranny work, but fortunately I don't need to. I got i...
