Welcome to the word of Thunderbirds Aaron. When you get her home first pull the plug wires (be sure to mark locations) and use a compressor to blow out any crud and rust from around the spark plugs. Then spray a good amount of penetrating oil down in there around the plugs. Let that do its work for ...

Ok, I found them but the only problem is I have to buy the whole car too. With the help from a friend we tracked down a complete 65 with a factory am/fm, the reclining seat and it also has nice hubcaps, two with the spinners. It's been sitting for years but the man only wants to sell it whole, he wo...

Its a 65. Thank you for your response. You use soap & water in the window tracks or on the sides of the window frame? Then use the dry Graphite? I am waiting to take some decent photos after the mechanic gets the horn and blinkers to work. Thank you, rollsman No, soap and water on the gauges an...

If you remove the seat you will find in the floor four other sets of bolt holes for just that purpose. at least that's what I hear. When are we go...

Do you use gas with ethanol? My sons Camry will have a hard time starting when hot if he is using ethanol gas. Thats why I use 93 ethanol free in my Bird.

I would use something like Sil-glide or other sticky grease. Permatex might make it a bit harder to remove if you ever have to again.

Yes the shop manual is a must have. I reckon this was a complicated car in its day but its a dream to work on to me compared to my SAABs at least I can get my hand into most places and remove most parts without pulling out 30 different other parts before hand.

If you raise the car you can remove the unit without dropping the tank. Its actually an easy job to remove it then you can check the unit. All you will need is a ...

One of my favorite tools when it comes to rusted or just mangled up parts is my Dremel tool and cut off wheels. Those things will cut through anything without damaging anything else if you are careful.
