Nice to see another northerner (I am just outside Toronto) on the forum.
I bought my first bird this year too, but invested in one that was ready to roll. I cut my teeth years ago building racebikes, so I know some of what you are going to go through.
Good luck, and good on ya!

I cannot comment on your specific question, but I own a 69 with the 2.80 in it with the 429. I get around 10mpg. From various books on 64-71 models with either the 390 or the 429, all appear to get similar mileage, and all appear to do 0-60 in similar times. I guess all I could recommend is that the...

As an update, I have bought some used armrest parts from a car that originally had the 4 speaker stock setup. I intend to mount modern speakers behind them. Amp sourced, subwoofer sourced, still on the hunt for the right 3 way speaker setup. I intend to use an iPod Touch as the head unit and am look...

I decided to risk it, and went ahead and bought a set of used pieces off eBay from a Tudor that had the 4 speaker system originally. I can use these pieces in my car, with speakers mounted behind them, and still retain the originals in a box for a future return to true stock. Will give the illusion ...

Door speaker stock size
I have a 1969 with the AM mono stereo. I understand that there was a 4 speaker AM/FM option available for the car. Does anyone know what size the speakers in the door were? I know that the rears were 5 1/4, from the holes back there. Looking to put door speakers into mine, to appear stock etc. Car i...

I'd take a run at that car at that price if I were that young again. I could see the beginnings of a great hot rod there. Have you thought about a budget to make the improvements you feel it needs? Looks to need: 1 tire paint (I would be very comfortable with a suede black job initially) review by a...

Reverse lights - duhh!
I bought the 1969 in October of this year. I first drove it at night sometime in late October, and noticed that I had no reverse lights active. I had cleaned the car thoroughly, including laying on my back in the driveway and working on the lower area at the back of the car, so I "knew" th...

I am running 225 on my 1969, so I would think a 235 should no problem. The car is not in the garage at the moment (winter storage off site) but I think they are 225/75/15's. I like this site to check out the differences between tires - plug in the stock size on the top, and then play around with con...
