Re: Frontend Kits
I did a 62, but I bought individual parts from various suppliers. One important recommendation is to not by a kit with just the inner shaft bushings. You will want to replace the whole thing. Mine was pretty much destroyed as the originals did not have grease fittings. Also, you will want new saddle...

Re: 4-terminal vs. 6-terminal Blower Switch Mystery
Jim, I had to go back and re-read the thread as it has been so long. You are the OP. I'm glad you are getting things figured out. So I assume you got a used harness? Are you working with the dash removed? It seems almost impossible to work on the wiring with it in place. I still need to look into th...

Re: Rear Bumper Q Rubber filler
The rear bumper removal is not very difficult. Just look underneath and you'll see four bracket bolts. On either side of the license plate there are two more bolts. You will probably have to wiggle the bumper out once the bolts are removed. Have a couple of jack stands ready to support the bumper as...

That will change the whole look of the piece. It will be glossy.Remove all the anodizing with several repeated sessions of oven cleaner.

Re: Aluminum Dash Panel
Does your original have a lot of dents and dings? If not severe, and you can work any small blemishes out, I would look for an anodizing shop in your area and have the piece redone.

I will not take any side on this thread. Roadster has provided a good source in his last post. This thread has run its course and I will lock it now.

Yes. Just copy the YouTube URL and insert it into a post URL, not image.

Re: Coil for Pertronics Ignitor 1
I have the Pertronics on my Mustang ever since I installed she fires up all the time no problem, I have MSD installed on the T bird never had a problem with it either. You will get full battery voltage while starting even if you are running them on the resistance wire. After starting. you just won'...

Re: Coil for Pertronics Ignitor 1
Actually, I can start a new thread on the starter relay. I will first do a search to see if there is something already out there, and if not, I'll start a new thread on this relay issue. Take a look at what I posted. Go ahead and start a new thread with your starter relay problem as that does sound...

Re: Coil for Pertronics Ignitor 1
Regardless, I would love to see some pics of this set up. I think I can visualize it, but pics speak 1000 volts...errr.....words. Take a look at this thread. Scroll down and you will see a wiring diagram and a picture of the ignition switch: http://www.vintagethunderbirdclub.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.ph...

Re: Coil for Pertronics Ignitor 1
Sounds good. BTW, I had a Flamethrower burn up on me. The coil got so hot I noticed it started to bulge. When I went to disconnect it. I grabbed it and burned my hand pretty bad. It was brand new, so I must have gotten a bad one. I bought it from Amazon, but of course I threw all the packaging away ...

Re: Coil for Pertronics Ignitor 1
So, I've bypassed the resistor wire only to have to add a resistor at the coil. Seems like more silliness but that's probably what I will do. That is a good idea anyway. My resistor wire is melted and it is impossible to trace through the dash. Who knows when and why that happened. When you are all...

Re: Coil for Pertronics Ignitor 1
I have been using the Flamethrower with my Pertronix II for awhile, with no troubles. I have not had any issues in the past with this set up. "Set it and forget it". I am curious, what is the advantage of running it through a relay? If you use the existing resistance wire, you will only g...
