Re: Placing Photos in Messages/Responses

I found a place where I was able to allow upload support for .heif and .heic, but after a little research, a lot of the browsers still don't support it. So, I think you can now upload these files, but others may not be able to view them. I'm curious to hear user feedback.

Images (temporarily) capped.

I have heard from a few of you about suddenly not being able to upload images.

I investigated and the board was capped at 5GB. I've increased the limit to 50GB.

Sorry about that. When we started allowing attachments a few years ago, it seemed like a reasonable place to start.

Re: Placing Photos in Messages/Responses

Still no built in support, but we haven't had a major version release in a while. Hopefully it will come with the next one. Hacking the message board base source code just doesn't seem like a good, maintainable thing to do.

Re: Placing Photos in Messages/Responses

Is there a possibility they you will accept photos with the new heic format? It's high def but a much smaller size than a jpg. Hi- I definitely see the value in supporting heic/heif, which apparently started getting widespread support with Apple's release of iOS11. I checked the phpBB support secti...

Re: Placing Photos in Messages/Responses

Sorry...I rarely actually read the forums so I just saw this and made it a "Global Sticky" so it should appear at the top of every forum now.

Thanks for doing the writeup.

Re: Forums upgraded from phpBB 3.2.8 to 3.3.0

Well, while I was composing the ticket, I clicked back through the sites and it was responsive again. Maybe just a server hiccup again. If you find it starts happening again, let me know and I'll continue with the support ticket.

Forums upgraded from phpBB 3.2.8 to 3.3.0

I've just upgraded the forums from phpBB 3.2.8 to 3.3.0. Some of the underlying supporting software also required an upgrade for the latest phpBB (which increases the odds of breaking something). Please post here if you encounter any issues. I already see that the logo is broken so I'll have to poke...

Re: Forums upgraded from phpBB 3.2.5 to 3.2.7

Jim/Doug-

Sorry for the slow response....I don't hit the boards very often. I don't see what might be causing the need to constantly login. I just came to the site to run a a monthly backup and I was already logged in. It's likely a browser/cookie issue. Is it still happening?

Thanks.

Forums upgraded from phpBB 3.2.5 to 3.2.7

I've just upgraded the forums from phpBB 3.2.5 to 3.2.7. Please post here if you encounter any issues. Sometimes users will have to login again following an upgrade, and things could be a little slow for the next few hours while the cache is rebuilt.
