Cliff's photo nicely shows the two bolts that have to be removed. They directly face the rear seat.

Re: 64 Driprail Removal
I can't say whether or not mine was original, but there was sealant underneath the drip rails on the bottom side (where the screws are). I used a heat gun to warm it so it would release. Just ran back and forth on the underside of the rail (about 18 inches at a time) until it was warm but not hot an...

Re: 1966 Trunk lock problems
You are right. I looked at photos of some other work I did in that area and the board is on the interior side, not in the trunk. My suggested procedure still stands though.

Re: 1966 Trunk lock problems
I agree with Raven. Once you remove the rear seat backs inside the car (might as well say the whole rear seat), you can cut out parts of the trunk liner. This is a thin fiberboard with a vinyl covering on the trunk side. If you cut carefully, you can probably reinstall it since it hardly shows with ...

Re: Electric Choke Hookup
I was going from memory and the wiring diagrams in the Wiring Diagram Manual (green/red is on the "I" terminal of the regulator). I just looked at the Shop Manual and the diagram is as you described. I had also reversed the colors in my post as you said. However, it does not alter my respo...

Re: Electric Choke Hookup
The "S" terminal on the alternator is unregulated voltage whether you take it at the regulator or terminal on the back of the alternator. I understand that the voltage can be anywhere from about 6 volts to 12 or so. I know Ford hooked electric chokes up to the "S" terminal on the...

Re: sequential kit
These things work well if you want sequentials on a 64. I installed one several years ago from a manufacturer that has since gone out of business, but I've never had any problems with it. I understand the Cougars Unlimited one is very similar.
