Leaky transmission or maybe power steering pump
Just noticed that the power steering fluid is low in my 66 Thunderbird. I thought the red fluid on the floor was from the trans, but now I'm not so sure. I have only had her for a few months and have not noticed the trans fluid going down--and was a bit surprised as I do get a few drops a day. Is it...

Not the best picture. Have the skirts on now, so will take a few pictures soon.

One other tip: the edges were a little loose in spots. Superglue used sparingly did the trick. I also removed a couple small air bubbles by using a syringe (my wife's diabetic) with super glue inside. You have to work fast. Put the superglue in the needle, remove air, insert needle into bubble, sque...

Yes, under the front lip of the dash are four screws to remove the panel the clock is in. It sort of folds down and hangs once unscrewed. There are four nuts under the speaker grill and two screws above. It comes out super easy-5 minutes. Mine didn't have a speaker attached, only a black tape on the...

Grill on dash under windshield: how do I get it out?
The grill under the windshield on the dash needs to come out so I can recover the cracked vinyl dash. I have taken out the only two screws I can see and it is not coming out. Is it possible this crews in from under the dash? Any advice would be helpful. I'm trying to do this today. Thanks.

KKC, when I say dirty, I mean there was a sort of black dust on everything like disc brakes will leave on your wheels. There was a black film on the inside of the cover. Nothing too thick, just a film on everything that made it look dull and dingy. The stuff I used to clean is from radio shack, caus...

I can't find the ROT sheet yet. I pulled the first spark plug. The stroke measured about 3.75 then I turned the engine and got about 4.25. I don't know how exactly to measure this or get BDC. When I did it, I measured to the bottom of the plug threads. Is this correct? CAn you give me any advice on ...

I hope Stang's theory is right... and even though it might seem like I'm wishing, I hope they stamped the cowel Z and put a Q in it and stamped the door as such. We shall see. I'm going to dig around for the ROT sheet. This is a fun mystery, even if it comes out a Frankenbird. If I do nothing else I...
