I just started my 65 up after a winter of welding and grinding, had the gas tank and fuel lines out. I looked at the vacuum line for the rear vent-ebrake. I have air and door locks so the line starts differently, but goes through the firewall on pas side down where the electrical harness plugs in. F...

I drove past the old plant on Friday and made up my mind to stop and get some pictures of it if I can sometime later this year. Its kinda sad looking, everything empty looking. Also a lot of construction right at the Wixom rd exit so its a little hard to get around. This is what I used to see drivin...

Hi Gary and welcome, I feel you've come to the right place. This is a very friendly place with tons of knowledge. I find as I read other posts I do some research and learn without even trying ;-) . I would recommend buying a shop manual, a good electrical chart ( the color charts are worth the money...

Graeme, I just used a cheap socket and made a bezel tool out of it with a grinder. Someone makes the correct tool but sounds like time is short in your case. Good luck, Bob C

For you 64 owners, my understanding is you may be more apt to electrical fires! http://www.t-birdsbynick.com/6466_wiring_tips.html
Look you car over or have an expert do it if you're not sure how. I see too many being parted out, we don't want to loose any to unnesessary fires!

Ok this is not a how to, but a watch it work kind of thing. I used a metal finger nail file. Years ago I owned a point file that I can't find so the nail file did the job. You can clean each point if you watch what you're doing. I know the car looks like s**t , its a work in progress (note the tag l...

Thanks Art, yes this makes sense to me. My knowledge of Wixom in the 60's is only what can find on the web. I think it was one of, if not the largest assy plant Ford had. So can I read the stamping plants A B C D E in the respective order you listed? (just curious you know  ) I do believe W...

If you have an original non rebuilt distributor with any kind of miles on it your points can't perform like the Pertronix. I noticed an improvement in the way my car ran from idle right up to hi-way speed. If done well the Pertronix is nearly invisible. my 2 cents.
