Re: 66 T-Bird-Power windows

Thanks for the tip about the string, I tried it, seemed to work, though I ended up taking the motor to an electric motor repair shop, they will take care of whatever it needs, I'm sure it will be a reasonable cost..

Re: 66 T-Bird-Power windows

My car is a 66 Landau, no back windows. Ford may have had a few designs using the coupler left over and put one in the drivers side of my car. The motor on the passenger side is different, the worm gear is part of the armature if one is to be very careful you can separate the part of the regulator t...

Re: 66 T-Bird-Power windows

My driver side window is connected from the motor to the regulator by a plastic coupler (see pic.) The passenger side worm gear and housing is part of the armature, which connects to the regulator, wanting to remove the old gunk from behind the worm gear I removed the it from the casing not a good mo...

Re: 66 T-Bird-Power windows

That is interesting the driver side has that bracket and a different gear system. Your picture looks exactly like mine does for the passenger side both the before and after now that I cleaned it but no bracket most probably left off, if it was worked on in the past. Thanks for the reply.

Re: Update and questions

I will think more about removing the vinyl roof in favor of painting, as it is I would like to see what is going on under the vinyl, though that project is for another day. Right now I'm removing the dash, I never thought I could have so much fun, going good so far, will find out how good it is when...

Re: 66 T-Bird/Landau, recent purchase

Well I'm hooked, out comes the dash; one question (for now) do the speedometer and gauges come off before the dash is pulled?

Re: Update and questions

I noticed the rust under the vinyl , my 66 Landau must have the same rust problem, my thought is to do away with the vinyl and paint the roof, which in the future I think I will do, that should solve the rust problem somewhat more than just putting vinyl back.

Re: 66 T-Bird/Landau, recent purchase

I would like to take the dash off thought knowing my capabilities taking it off I probably could do, putting it all back together would be my problem. Re: 66 T-Bird/Landau, recent purchase

I'm hoping for the best with those hoses, I will try and replace as I go along, the driver side hose concerns me the most it seems to be the most difficult the way it comes into the car, is a difficult route to snake in, also it is secured up against the fire wall, possible not to be able to secure ...
