If anyone should have this 56 with matching vin, I would be happy to mail them the invoice.
Are ALL of the invoices from 1955 gone? Is there any chance some from January 31st still exist?

It has power seats, but manual windows. It has a continental kit and aftermarket air conditioning. Both tops, and snaps for a tonneau. The snaps are across the back deck which means it was not secured to the rear garnish rail.

Re: off topic

The guy who runs it is what I used to call a wussy-pay. Except without the pig-latin.

He is a scared little man with a very big ego.

I too, was called out - and I don't miss his little forum at all.

Re: Pros and cons to the PCV kit from CASCO

After installing the kit (plate under the carb) watch out for the filter hold down nut hitting the hood I used the putty method. Protect everything on the carb with plastic wrap. Make a slab of modeling putty 3/4 inch or greater thick and place it above the carb wingnut. Slowly close the hood all t...

Re: Engine stops running for no apparent reason

I don't know anything about 57's, but I had a very elusive problem with my '55 that was solved after reading this topic on "Heat Soak". https://www.vintagethunderbirdclub.net/ ... hp?t=20755

Mine was manufactured on January 31, 1955, and does not have the ribbed style.

Re: Install the 1955 PCV conversion Kit

I installed one because the draft tube hold-down bolt had no threaded hole in the engine. It was welded to the valley cover and broke off at some point. The hardest part is making sure the carb does not get too high. If it does when you shut the hood the first time it will cause a dent from the insi...

A short story

In a small town in lower Alabama, there sat a weathered barn that held a secret. Inside its dusty walls, hidden beneath a tattered canvas, was a 1955 Ford Thunderbird, frozen in time like a forgotten treasure. Its vibrant red exterior had faded over the years, but its classic lines and chrome accent...

Need a picture of a 1955

Can someone with a '55 take a picture of the distributor, from the drivers side of the car. I want to see the path of the tachometer cable across the back of the engine and into the distributor shaft.

Thanks in advance,

Jeff

I found the interference. It was dented upward in the valley near the 'oil level' indentation. I could not see this while there was oil in it. From the bottom it looked normal.

Re: This 1955 air cleaner don't look right...

It looks to me that the bottom of the oil pan is bent. Is it level when just placed on the floor? Somebody may have stepped on it or dropped something on it while off the car. While off the car it sat under the radiator. When on a level surface the oil pools evenly. There is a dent at the very fron...
