Re: balancing with ceramic beads
I have used them for years on my Glodwings and they work great, even when running a car tire on the back. I'm just wondering if they may not be the way to go with the wire wheels on my 56 T-Bird.

balancing with ceramic beads
Has anybody had any experience balancing wire wheels on the Baby Birds using ceramic beads inside the tubes?

Re: Power Steering Lines
I am happy to report that I spoke too soon. The one fitting that has a 7/16 flair going into a brass fitting turned out to be the only hose set up that way, and one of the set of new ones is identical. Its just a case of me speaking too soon. I do have to say it was a real chore to change the leaky ...

Power Steering Lines
I recently bought a set of power steering lines for my 56 T-Bird. Now that I have them in hand and have removed one line I discovered that each of the lines on my car have a 7/16 flare fitting going into a 9/16 fitting which takes a flare on one side but has a flat end on the side that goes into the...

Does anyone have a photo or diagram of the back side of the 56 dash panel showing the speedometer lights?

Re: Tonneau Covers
I totally agree about staying out of the rain but in those situations where you find yourself away from home and no choice about parking outside, I was wondering if there would be any sense in snapping the tonneau cover in place even though the hardtop is on. That's why I was wondering if anyone had...

Re: Tonneau Covers
Has anyone had any experience with their tonneau cover in the rain? I was wondering if you have the tonneau cover zipped up with both sides covered, does rainwater get past the tonneau cover into the car?

Re: Need help with identifying trans part: '57 FOM
The red fluid color is automatic transmission fluid, not engine oil. I agree that the most likely source of the leak is the front transmission seal. Another possibility is the O-ring seal between the converter housing and the front impeller cover. If you remove that access cover you should be able ...

Re: 56 Hard Top
It may not be an issue with whichever top you wind up with (55 or 56) but the weather seals on the 55's and early 56's are different than the late 56's.

Re: Replacing one of my wire wheels
Well I finally have my wheel. It seems nobody has any idea when either Wheels Vintique or Roadster will start producing these wheels again. Coker seems to think it will be at least the end of this Summer. I called Truespoke and was advised they would have some 56 T-Bird wheels available in the near ...

Re: Replacing one of my wire wheels
Hi Alan, Thanks for your input. My wheels are 15 X 5 and as I recall there is a backspace of 3.5 inches. Today I contacted Coker Tire with the intention of cancelling my order thinking that Coker wheels have 48 spokes and the rep advised me that Coker wheels for the 55 & 56 T-Birds have 56 spoke...

Replacing one of my wire wheels
Hi Guys, I have still not solved the problem of determining exactly what brand of wire wheels are on my 56 T-Bird. I was under the impression that they were Cokers but have recently learned that Coker wheels have 48 spokes - mine have 56 spokes. So far, the only brand I have been able to find that h...

Re: Electric Fuel Pump
The original pump works fine and I do still have the vacuum wipers which work pretty good unless I'm really goosing it. I am only installing an electric one to eliminate the need for 6 stomps on the gas pedal on a cold start. I understand there are electric pump kits purposely made for these baby bi...

Electric Fuel Pump
I am planning to install an electric fuel pump on my 56 Baby Bird which is has been completely restored as per original. I know just about any electric pump will work but I understand there are pump kits which are made specifically for the 55 - 57 TBirds. I would welcome any recommendations from fol...

Thanks, I'll order a set of the metal gaskets. Anything in particular I should be looking for in the torque converter?
