Re: 1961 radiator replacement
I just bent the tubing with a tubing bender and made up some line and ran them across the bottom cross member and up to the rad connections. Pretty easy to do. I bought a set from inline tube but the connections weren't the right size and it's a bear to get to the connections at the transmission

Re: 1961 radiator replacement
My radiator was the same way. I read that they changed it so the ports are on the driver side mid way through 61 because of the transmission fluid not cooling properly. US radiator makes them so you can still get them. I went with the late model and just extended the cooler lines. They build to orde...

Re: Lower Control Arm Bushing Bolt
It's not pressed in, it's probably just rusted to the bushing. Heat or a bigger hammer may work but try to get a sawsall blade between the bushing and the frame mount and try to cut it.

64 Moog Idler arm
I'm upgrading my 61 idler arm and center link to the more beefier 64 parts and came across this Moog idler arm that is the ball joint style vs the shaft/bushing. Has anyone ever seen or used one of these? Seems like a good design. Moog must not make them anymore because they are not listed on their ...

Re: Cruise-o-matic shift point
Did he replace the modulator? Might just need adjusting. Maybe when he pulled the valve body out the modulator pin fell out with it.

Re: Transmission vacuum modulator (Early 61)
It's not that bad. Just be careful and don't drop anything. Take pictures so you can see how it all goes back together. There is a good step by step write up on squarebirds.org. One thig that makes it a lot easier is to disconnect the detent arm to get the detent pin and spring back in. Here is a vi...

Transmission vacuum modulator (Early 61)
So I replaced the seals for the shift lever and while removing the valve body I noticed the pin for the vacuum modulator was missing. I don't think I lost it during disassembly because I was very careful and going slow but maybe I did. Didn't hear or see anything drop so I'm thinking maybe the modul...

Rear end width
Anyone know the width of the 61 - 63 rear ends flange face to flange face? Tried measuring mine while it's still in the car and getting about 56.25" but want to verify. Also, anyone know if the 60 Thunderbird is the same width? I'm getting ready to build a 4 link and looking for a housing to us...

65-66 Rebuilt Steering box Easton, Ma. $450.00
Power steering box Rebuilt by Old Car Clearance out of Connecticut. It has never been installed or used since the rebuild. Don't need it anymore. Save some money by not having to ship your core back. Would rather sell it locally but would ship at buyers cost. IMG_8795.jpg IMG_8796.jpg IMG_8797.jpg I...
