Re: defrost vents for dash replacement?
Not sure what you mean with the wire mesh or plastic that crumbled. My 63 Sports Roadster has it's original perfect dash covering and the covering just folds down around the vent opening as yours shows. It seems this subject came up some time ago and it was decided that there was no trim around the ...

Re: Constant voltage regulator?
The parking lights are correct on your car. The parking lights staying on with the headlights was something that happened around 1968 I believe.

Re: 1962 T-Bird air filter
Your only choice for an original air cleaner is a used one. Some of the dealers who support and advertise in the Scoop magazine have some original parts for sale, otherwise you might want to place a want ad in the Scoop.

Welcome to the forum and to the world of Thunderbirds. Looks like you found a vary nice car and one you can enjoy right away. I have found if I fill the surge tank too much that it will burp out coolant so I keep the level about an inch below the fill neck. Bob Jackman VTCI member 4942 1963 Sports R...

Re: Best Floor Mats 1963 sports roadster
Montrose, Have you counted the number of spokes on your wheels to verity that they are the original 48 spoke Kelsey Hayes wheels? As I understand it, the after market wheels have 56 spokes and have a different offset that fit under the skirts. Also, my opinion is that no matter which wheels you have...

Re: Best Floor Mats 1963 sports roadster
Montrose,
I am curious about your car having fender skirts with the wire wheels. It has always been my understanding that the offset on the Kelsey Hayes wheels wouldn't allow space for the skirts but that the after market wires would.

Re: Tire Pressure / Rear Lamp lenses
Peter, This is the first chance I've had to check the placement of the screws that hold the tail light lenses on my 63 Sports Roadster. I finished the restoration 28 years ago and hadn't given it much thought. Anyway, the pattern is the same on both sides 3,6,9 and 12. As to tire pressure, I can't b...

You might want to check to see if the flasher would have to be changed.

Re: ride height
Thanks Alan for the answers and Mark for the question. Years ago The rear of of my Sports Roadster was sitting lower than I thought it should so I took the springs to a spring shop and had them re-arched. Within two years the car was back where it had been before. I was told that this happened becau...

Your best bet is a used one from someone parting out a car.

Re: 1963 turn signal flasher location
Thanks to all for the suggestions. The problem has been solved and you all were correct, it was not the flasher. Seems there was a loose connection in the trunk and a burned out bulb. I should have checked the bulbs first but since both tail lights were not working I assumed it was something besides...

Thanks Alan. I guess I'll try to pull that cluster as I couldn't see anything from underneath with a mirror and flashlight.

1963 turn signal flasher location
My turn signals suddenly quit working along with my brake lights and tail lights. I have front parking lights. The turn signals won't flash which makes me believe the flasher is the problem. I have googled to find the location of the flasher but the responses are all over the place and none of them ...
