Re: Wiring problems

First with brake light is to remove the 2 ends on the end of the brake light switch on the end of the master cylinder. Short the 2 together and do your brake lights come on? May or may not need to have the ign. switch in the on position. Again a running change for the brake light to work with the sw...

Re: Lost Title VIN question

Most of the issues will be your local state laws. You have not said which state you are working with. If the data plate matches the vin stamped into the frame in 3 places, it makes easier to register. I have a 65 that someone in the past got a title for a ford car and then obliterated the visile 2 v...

There is no such thing as a numbers matching bird, except later on the Canadian exports.

These are the bug eyed bulbs and might fit the 58-60 but will not look right.

Re: ‘64 TBird

All the reproductions are incorrect for both wheels. Only solution as noted by Alan is to have a set of originals resleeved. Cost a bit more but no headaches.

Re: 64 brake Light Relay Question.

I wrote an article for the Scoop a long time ago. I think the wiring diagram that I created for the article was added to the VTCI website.

Let me know if not and will try and find my drawings.

Good Luck

So Sorry to hear of the crash. Can't imagine this happening to one of my birds. Hope the insurance company treated you fairly.

Re: 64-66 OFS Revisions - 1964-1966 Bumper Jack Photos Needed ASAP

When did you start on the revision of the 64-66 OFS? I am assuming that you want detailed pics showing the markings if any? Do you want the pieces seperate or as a package like the gent did for the 66? Should be able to get twords the end of the week. Communicate thru my email as do not frequent the...

Re: 1964 Fuel Tank

As far as I know the rock shield on the gas tank was installed on all 64 birds. The shield was installed before the bird was undercoated and therefore there is no undercoating between the shield and tank. As noted earlier the shield and tank were galvanized metal. The 2 tanks now being sold were ini...

Re: Brake Booster

Suggest you send your brake booster to booster Dewey in Oregon. Takes him 1-2 weeks to repair and return to you. He can also tell you if you a correct 64 booster. I do not remember if he does the MC as well The Mc probably needs to be resleeved. My suggestion is brass but have heard SS is also ok. G...

Re: 64 thunderbird carb spacer

I think that maybe using JB Weld after cleaning up the tubbing. If it looks hopeless then find a nice used one from one of the tbird houses. My suggestion is the BirdNest in Oregon.

Re: Rethinking the '64 ammeter

Hi Alan et All I have not had time to find my amp guages as have other commitments. Tanx for part numbers on the 64 guage. I only remember pulling guages that look like the one labeled 65. I have only parted one 65 and do not remember what I did with the speedo. I would think I saved it but will sea...

Re: Rethinking the '64 ammeter

I think you have the 64 and 65 reversed in the pictures with all 3 years displayed. I will take pics of the 64 gauges I have out of speedos. The back of the 64's have a V type insulated connector that is held in place by small nuts. The heavy wires from the wire harness are held to the same posts wi...

Re: Rethinking the '64 ammeter

Loud Tanx for adding the word of drive your bird. I have only worked on one my 64's to fix the possible issue. I do not plan on changing the other 6 unless there are signs the repair needs to be done. The one I did had issues at both areas and I repaired them while doing a lot of other repairs. Good...
