Re: Engine stalls when turning wheels
Yes, I thought that too. Changed the pump and no noise.
I have to check the noisy pump that what went wrong when I changed the seals.

Engine stalls when turning wheels
I changed the seals to the power steering pump and put everything back together. Now when I turn the wheels all the way to the left/right the engine stalls. Pump makes a bit noise when turning all the way, but not too much. Otherwise steering and pump works fine. Any idea where I should start lookin...

Re: Carb Identification
That should be Autolite 4100 carburetor.
I am from overseas, so I cannot recommend you the best source for rebuilt kit.
Should be available in many suppliers.

Re: Steering axle 180 degrees off
I have not checked how the turn signal parts are installed in the steering wheel.
Probably I just disconnect the steering axle from the steering gear end and rotate the whole thing 180 degrees.

Re: Steering axle 180 degrees off
Yes, turn signal cancelling is off as well. That's why rotating only the steering wheel does not work.
Is there enough space to pull the steering column back and rotate when the steering axle pin is disconnected?
I will find it out of course, but just wanted to make sure beforehand.

Steering axle 180 degrees off
I put the steering box back after painting the engine bay. I did not notice until everything was in place that the steering axle is 180 degrees off. I mean steering wheel is upside down when wheel are straight. Question is: What is the best way to fix this? Do I have to take out the whole steering b...

Thank you for your additional comments!
I am a bit cautious about all electrical work, especially with old cars.
Now everything is clear, thanks!

Re: Powergen
Powermaster alternator is already purchased, but the conversion is still on hold. Before I start, few questions came up to OldRusty1: - I noticed that you left the regulator "A" coil in place. Is it OK that way or can I take that coil out too? - Did you use existing generator wire to conne...

Re: Exhaust manifold bolts and washers
When you intall the tabbed washers, bend over only ONE tab. You'll thank yourself if you ever need to remove the manifolds while they are in the car.Choketube2.jpegManifold Bolt Locks.jpegLong Tab.JPG.jpeg Thanks for this tip, Jim! I can imagine it is hard to unlock those tabs when manifolds are in...

Re: Exhaust manifold bolts and washers
Thanks Alan! I will leave the washers out.Alan H. Tast wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 12:08 pm No washers from the factory - bolts and lock tabs only. Be aware one tab plate should have a looped one that goes on the right rear top bolt for the small tube that comes out of the exhaust manifold on 1961-1962 390s and 1958-60 352s.

Exhaust manifold bolts and washers
Ordered a new set of exhaust manifold bolts and washer from Mac's. Set included bolts, lock tabs and normal washers. However, there was no washers in the old installation and I believe that is how it was originally. Question is: Do you recommend to use both lock tab and washer, just lock tabs or jus...

Re: Power steering pump o-rings
No problem!
My pump was missing that O-ring so it took a while to figure out where should it go.
Now it is assembled with new seals. First time for me, hopefully it still works
