56 TBird Power Brake Booster
ANYONE HAVE A POWER BRAKE BOOSTER FOR SALE OR HAVE ONE THATS BEEN OVERHAULED OR IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION FOR MY 1956 TBird?
Anyone with a good experience getting one overhauled without costing an arm and leg? Or anyone overhauled their own with a kit to do so? Jim G

Re: Stuck steering column
Be careful pulling out as when I loosened my 56 up, and slide it back towards me- the darn wheel with splined shaft came out of the steering gear box!! This was fun! Thank God I wasn’t moving down the road!! I appears the rebuilder wanted a smaller diameter wood wheel installed so to fit he cut off ...

Brake booster
My 56 TBird has a brake booster on it that does not seem to be boosting . I tried to replace the check valve on vacuum inlet fitting at booster but the one sent me from TBird part suppliers is a smaller diameter valve than on my booster. Mine says Midland on booster but mine has a +- 5/8 inlet threa...

Re: Fuel Pressure - to augment or not to augment? Electronic fuel pump augmentation
How do you add this electric pump- in-line cut to fuel line or tee fitting by-pass pump when not using electric? Check valve ? Or engine pump sucks fuel through electric pump in line when not switched on? Jim G

Re: 56 TBird Power brake inop
Ok— hose change set it will be! Have you ever bleed the power booster at the bleed point on the booster? And how would I check the booster to see if it’s working? Check a vacuum holding on it?? How? Jim G

Re: 56 TBird Power brake inop
I have not replaced the hoses. Would not have thought that would act like this to loose power assist brake. Maybe hoses are cheaper than a booster overhaul to try for the fix. Suppose there is a way to isolate lines or front and back? Jim G.

56 TBird Power brake inop
Well— Still working on getting my 56 TBird drive running safe! Engine started idling a bit rough on and off and idle too low after a drive! Stared when brakes have lost power assist and brakes dragging a bit after a stop. If I hit the brake pedal 2-3 times brakes release and roll freely again. Brake...

Re: 1956 TBird radiator overflow recovery
Well— I’m going to install a new Aluminum radiator in Bird Tuesday. Probably crazy for not putting a pusher elect fan on it while radiator out but going to hope new Alum radiator does the trick!!$$ Am I wrong? Jim G

Send it out to a Pro! If it’s a USA made pump versus China made, send it to Fuel pump overhaul pro in Texas. $125.00 best fuel pump money I have spent!!

Re: Normal operating temperature - my gauge must be off
Well my’56 TBird temp gage runs 3/4 way over to Hot on a drive in 90 degree KS. temp. Then at idle sitting goes on up hotter! About 3-5 minutes after shutting her down, radiator overflows on ground. Close to a quart if I have antifreeze level is half way between top of radiator core and top of radia...
