Re: Deck Lid Weatherstripping Replacement
HA - well I think if you got the lid off, you would have noticed one connected. Yes, there's a space between the metals near the lock on the lid, and the trunk light mounts there, bare bulb in a little housing. I still haven't seen where a switch would mount for open-lid tho Still trying to get acqu...

Re: Tail Lights Grounding
61, I think I saw your post on the FB group. Until recently my Tail only stayed lit when either door jamb switch was open. Shut the door and the Dash, Parking and Tail went out. A Fantom red wire going from upper right fusebox corner (63, so at passenger feet) into console, I unhooked, reconnected, ...

Re: Deck Lid Weatherstripping Replacement
I cannot see where the wire goes for the trunk lamp, maybe I'll try and disconnect at the lamp housing itself

Re: Deck Lid Weatherstripping Replacement
So no alignment issues then I guess? That is truly wild. Good to know, it may be way easier to remove the old sticky junk like this as well.
I'll try and kick up the GoPro when I can get a hand, guess it should be about a 15 min. operation for removal

Re: Deck Lid Weatherstripping Replacement
OK next you gotta tell us what a royal PITA getting the lid off was even w/2 people, and I assume there's some alignment and adjustment going to happen when reinstalling? Or are the bolts into 2 tidy round holes each. NICE JOB btw

Re: Deck Lid Weatherstripping Replacement
Steve, can you give an account on if the adhesive seemed to 'take' instantly? I don't mind getting on my back in awkward positions looking up - after all I now own a Thunderbird LOL...but only if I don't have to mess around with clamps and boards to hold it in place. I imagine once you close the lid...

FWIW, Autozone has the same 3m 'Yellow' and I believe 'Black' but Yellow is what was paired to my stripping's seller website
It's $10 a tube

Re: New 63, even new switch doesn't get dash/tail/parking lights working with door closed
Slow charge the battery and address other issues later. You could be shooting yourself in the foot if you take on To much at once. OK Cliff and others, from my other posts I have made it to a sound engine (aside from a little tap) with all new from tank to last filter, plugs, air cleaner... Now I n...

Re: Starting issues after cleaning gas tank 62 t bird
The only thing left to change is the clear glass filter I put in ahead of the Carb to start the project and diagnose, or really see what may have been coming thru. I think I can remove that now and go back to the larger steel Wix type as it should be. Before long I will grab one of the FoMoCo repro ...

Re: Starting issues after cleaning gas tank 62 t bird
I wanted to follow up with my own [finally successful] experience and how I troubleshooted: Got a 20' clear plastic tubing and some brass nipples to fit (3/8? at home depot. Hooked up bypassing the tank/steel line direct from sender to fuel pump: Perfect flow. I would literally watch the cranking mo...

Re: Deck Lid Weatherstripping Replacement
Yeah I have no problem with RR, I love it and gets more attention than my Border Collie. I'm just pissed the original Champaign is rearing its head in places. Pathetic was the paint job aka prep-work. I see no primer when red comes off Back on topic, will play around with Acetone and see how the tar...

Well, it did clean up small things like clips and bolts beautifully, but I learned the hard way that Aldi cat food cans don't stand a chance overnight!
