66’ Rear brake auto adjuster assembly
I sold my 66. The new owner will be taking possession soon. A couple issues to address. Really hoping someone can lead me in the right direction. The cable for the new auto adjuster kit is a bit too long (11-7/16”) I’m guessing they need to be about an inch shorter.I have asked suppliers to remove a...

Surge/Expansion Tank
Looking for a good, not leaking expansion tank, correct for my 66’ 390. At a good price for me would be great. I have recently sold it, but, I do need to fix this ASAP, before the new owner takes it. Thanks.

Re: 66 bird rear quarter windows
Just a suggestion here,,,look up on YouTube, how to take these motors apart, clean them , put them back together. If I can find the one I watched last year, I’ll post the link. It’s by Nick, from vintage thunderbird club. The video helped me so much. Good luck.

By the way. Where are you located? Also, I would look at the “eyebrow chrome”, and headlights, headlight bezels. Making certain that they are all tightly installed.

Re: 66 front end rattling with acceleration when hot outside
Can you grab that pipe(when cool)?? And wiggle it slightly, side to side.?? Even just a little can amplify causing a rattle noise. Mine sounded like rockers coming apart to me. Or something in the valve train.I’m half deaf. Good luck and keep us updated.

Re: 66 front end rattling with acceleration when hot outside
I just had a similar, inconsistent knock issue with mine, too. Exhaust leak. Mine was at the manifold flange. I loosened both nuts, realigned, tightened back up evenly. This was my fix for my hot knock. Good luck with yours.

Re: PERPLEXING NO CRANK NO START 1964 TBIRD
You stated that you can jump at solenoid. That tells me the solenoid might be the issue. Try tapping lightly on the rounded body of it, see if it cranks with key. If not, try crossing the 2 solenoid terminals quickly, if it cranks, replace the solenoid. Good luck

Re: Passenger reclining seat problem
Ok, thank you. I won’t be getting to it right away. The car is in storage right now. It’s just another issue that’s been bugging me. I haven’t tried anything to diagnose it in the past, so, your information sounds like a good start. Thank you very much.

Just checking in here for any updates. Were you able to get a higher pedal? Did you adjust the rear brakes tighter? Might help to get a higher pedal.

Re: Jamco dual master cylinder and booster conversion
I will be doing this conversion on my 66’,too. Not sure which company to go with. Waiting to see more reviews and opinions. Thanks to all that have contributed good info on this topic. I’m looking forward to getting this car on the market with the dual bowl conversion.
