Re: Carburetor thoughts - rebuild or replace
I'm looking for something I can buy off the shelf now. I'm not so interested in being 'stock' as I am drivability.

1965 Landau engine bracket?
The driver's side engine bracket (stabilizer?) was not connected when I got my car. I'm doing a restoration. This is the bracket that is in the engine compartment and attaches to the firewall. My question is that it seems many people delete them. Are they not needed? Also, if they are, is there a pa...

Re: While you have that apart....general thoughts
How did you lubricate them? I have another post where I just asked that question.

Window roller lubrication
I saw a few posts where the rollers are lub'd with StaLube Moly-graph and the tracks with silicon spray. My question is can I use white lithium grease or another standard type grease? I'd rather not buy a tub of lube for a use specific thing.

Electrical connector type?
Can anyone tell me the name/type of electrical connector that is used on the window motor for a 65? The genius who had the car before me cut and spliced the wire bypassing the rubber boot that was extant. I'm assuming I can jimmy out the old pin and insert a new one.

Re: While you have that apart....general thoughts
While replacing the passenger door on my 66 Landau, (car has been sitting for 20 years) I started looking at all the inner workings and began thinking to myself "while you have this apart you should...." there's a long list. I'll probably take everything out of the door and clean/lube it....

Re: door hinge questions
Actually, I put in a single shim from a pack I got from Autozone (the thinnest) and it worked fine. I only had to raise the door about 1/8 of an inch.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: door hinge questions
I replaced my passenger door due to some rust issues. The new door sags about 1/4 inch. I'm inclined to shim the lower hinge as accessing the hinge seems to be a pain. Thoughts?

Re: 1965 Landau window glass replacement?
Yeah, I have a copy of the manual. I consulted it before I posted. It's a bit vague, was written 50 years ago and assumes an informed audience (SAE Mechanic). My hope in posting was to see if anyone had any tips/tricks or advice not in the manual. I've found on previous forums that you can often get...

Re: 1965 Landau window glass replacement?
The panel is already off. I know on other cars the window had to be lowered to access the slider wheels.
