Re: Sylvania Zevo?
Great to hear. Thank you. I ended up putting some lazfit in the taillights. They are great. I will be deciding what to put in the front turn signals. May go zevo. In a cheap trial I slapped some no name led 1157 in the front signals but it wouldn't flash with the front and rear being LED. Went back ...

Re: Rear Axle Mods
I love your optimism. I dont have anything to say as it comes to swappable drivetrain parts. My suggestion is to just get it driving and enjoy it. The stock brakes will do their job more than one thinks. I had intentions on converting my 63 to front disc but it's now on the back burner after feeling...

I ordered a digital manual online for about $30 and then discovered this. Free and download able.

Re: Steering gear box
Very cool stuff you got here. I'll give it a shot and make some tools. And thank you for the directions. The clockwise vs counter clockwise I found was in the shop manual but I will reference your advice. You're the best.

Re: Steering gear box
Thank you thats reassuring. Youre thinking mine is adjusted way to much one way that its force is whats causing the wheel to turn all on its own?
The threaded plug is a nightmare itself. I used a punch and hammer to slowly tap it off. I'd love to see the tool you used.

Steering gear box
I had a bad leaking problem from my steering gearbox. I eventually got around to removing it. I disassembled the whole thing and put new orings and seals in. After the biggest fight of my life trying to wrestle it back up and in I fired it up. No leaks! However the steering wheel turned on its own a...

Re: HEADLIGHT UPGRADE '62 Thunderbird
Yes. I bought h4 bulb accepting headlights off fleabay. Had to modify the a bit so they were orientated correctly and slapped some led bulbs inside. They're glass.
The bulbs have cooling motors so had to cut a little room in the backside of the housing.
Its all hidden and looks factoryish.

Re: Autolite 4100 carburator problem
Agree with binding surfaces. Another could be the shafts the plates screw into. Disassemble and hit them with emery cloth so they have no resistance sliding in or rotating. If this is a high idle issue after warmed up and 2 carbs are doing the same, I'd look elsewhere. Most likely its vacuum advance...

Re: Headlight Adjustment Nut
Yup, I have the experience. I converted my headlights to headlights that except H4 light bulbs. In doing so I had to modify the retaining rings. Well those adjuster screws were gummed up and the thin metal holding them snapped as I tried taking them out. I went to the store, bought some new stainles...

Re: Cruising RPMs?
Update- I can't tell its shifting 3 gears at all. In L it certainly is low. Both green dot and white dot shift the same. The car feels like a 2 speed oh well, Rpms at 55mph is about 2000. Good enough for me. Thanks guys.

Cruising RPMs?
What rpms are you all seeing when running at about 55mph? I want to determine if mine is not shifting to 3rd. I feel only 1 shift when taking off in green dot mode. 1963
