Re: Update and questions
I noticed the rust under the vinyl , my 66 Landau must have the same rust problem, my thought is to do away with the vinyl and paint the roof, which in the future I think I will do, that should solve the rust problem somewhat more than just putting vinyl back. My uncle was a Ford engineer and he ma...

Re: 1966 Engine Block Numbers for a 428
This from my years of playing with 65-66 Mustangs. Ford stamped an assembly date on the head surface (generally on the left side in front of the head). These can be lost if the block gets decked. This is probably your 6027 number. Casting dates and part numbers are actually raised and cast in when t...

Re: 1966 Trunk lock problems
Thanks for all the pointers. There wasn't enough room to reach up over the spare to loosen it and push out of the way. Ended up hitting Larry's Thunderbird Friday morning and getting a new trunk lock and clip (they don't have the smaller clip by itself so I got a larger carb linkage one). I used one...

I purchased it from a guy who got it from an estate sale. He does't work on cars so he paid to get it running. They changed the carb an...

Re: 1966 Trunk lock problems
Locksmith won't work. The lock isn't connected to the release lever.

9" = yes
Bearing size - probably the big ones. Safest to pull the axle and measure before you order.
Staggered shocks = one mounted ahead of the axle the other behind.

1966 Trunk lock problems
Any easy way to get the trunk open? The previous owner replaced the lid over the key and when he reinstalled it he for got the clip and the rod has fallen out of the lever. I thought I'd try taking the back seat out but the tire is in the way. Is a drill my next step?
Thanks
Thanks
