Re: Rear Wheel Bearing Issue?

Just a couple thoughts. Since you mention that you are loosing rear end fluid, that could cause some noise as the fluid is low. If the fluid is low then the wheel bearings would not be getting lubrication. I would suggest you fix the leak first. Then fill the system back up. Raise the rear wheels an...

Re: 64 carb issue

Looking at your pic's your carb looks amazingly clean. Should be a cheap repair. These Autolite 4100's work well when clean and properly set up.
There is a good utube vid on how to teardown, clean and rebuild and adjust these which I used to do mine. Was it working ok before the float issue?

Re: low oil pressure

HI Didn't I read someplace that these FE 390's have to much oil going to the heads and one could restrict that flow (I believe they mentioned using a carb jet in the heads oil supply routing) which in turn would help send more oil flow and pressure toward the bottom end! If true, it would seem to me...

Re: '64 chattering front brakes - not OE?

Hi In the old days, we would grind the new shoes round so they would apply even pressure on the drums. Meaning that the shoes were not always perfectly round causing them to rub in the center or on the tips. We use to check them by putting them in the drums to see if they matched. I know that this c...

Re: Heater core

Hi Scott. Why don't you pressure test your heater core. That should tell you what condition it's in. You could bypass it. Flush it out with water and then test it. That way if it leaks it would just be water!

Re: Vacuum leak?

Quick Question. Is the PCV system on the 66 the same as a 64? On my 64 the PCV was stuck and allowed vacuum to escape which caused problems getting the motor to idle properly. Once fixed the engine purred like a kitten!!

Re: Vacuum check valve location for front fender can.

Terry My 64 is the same as Raven with the smooth canister on the apron and the tomato can style below the cowl by the hood hinge passenger side. The tomato can bolt pattern is different than that of the smooth can. You may want to look at yours and see if there are 2 side by side holes beneath your ...

Re: Adjusting the fuel gauge

Thanks for the info Scott but what Terry and I would like to know is, does the gauge itself have an adjustment, not the sending unit?
Thanks, Ray

Hi Terry.

I would also be interested in finding out if the fuel gauge itself can be adjusted. Does anybody know?
Thanks, Ray

Raven

The pic was just an example showing the light. My interior is Trim code 57 which is Light Turquoise Crinkle Vinyl. See pic's of interior but Some pic's end up being upside down!! Not sure what is causing that!

Thanks

Re: '66 Ammeter not responding -- Any suggestions?

HI Art

Is the battery getting charged? Mine was doing the same thing and it turned out to be the connector on the voltage regulator. I fiddled with it and the ammeter started working. Must have been a bad connection. Just a thought!
