Trunk lock

We need to remove the key barrel from the lock housing of the trunk of a 57 Thunderbird. Any tips how this can be done? It looks like it is being kept in place by a pin projecting from the inner part. Would this be spring loaded? It seems stuck. Thanks.

Re: Gunmetal grey code colour

Thanks Steve, but is there a standard code which we can give to the paint shop so they can make the paint for us? We are located in Europe.

Looking for the code colour for Gun metal grey paint for an early 57 Thunderbird. Were there any variations? Thanks.

Re: Rebuilding the 312 engine

He is getting the engine rebuilt by a professional mechanic, however these engines are quite rare in our little corner of the world

Rebuilding the 312 engine

A friend is currently rebuilding the 312 engine on his 57 Thunderbird. Is this engine type more prone to some particular failure, should he be paying extra attention to anything or take any precaution measures to some aspect of this engine? Thanks in advance.

Is there a guide or list describing the OK'd markings for a 57 Thunderbird? Thanks.

Re: 57 driveshaft indentification

Many thanks for the specifications. Can you tell me if there should be any other stencilled markings anywhere else on the car? Thanks again.

Re: 57 driveshaft indentification

Would any similar painted markings be present on the frame or anywhere else? Is there a guide as to where and how these should be applied for a factory restoration? Thanks.
