The steering wheel swing away is manual. The vacuum line down there is attached to the neutral start switch as part of the automatic brake release system.
If you have ac, there’s a whole mess of vacuum controls for that, and there’s also a vacuum advance on the distributor.

Re: 1965 "Special Landau" logo
Mine are pretty hard to read, too, but here are a couple of photos from 2 different angles. If there is something you want to see that isn’t there I’d be happy to take another shot at it.

Re: Waterless Wash
I know this topic is a couple of months old, but I’ll jump in anyway. It’s not actually a waterless wash, but rather a rinse less wash. A product that I use for light dirt is Optimum No Rinse. Heavy dirt gets a full on 2 bucket wash in the driveway with Optimum Car Wash. Light/medium dirt gets a 2 b...

Glad I could help. I did take a ton of pictures, both during removal & reinstallation, so if there’s some detail you get stuck on I may be able to assist. Good luck with the car.

Re: INSTALLING THE DASH...
Here are a couple of pictures from when I did mine. I attached the wiring harness, speedo, and gauges OUTSIDE of the car, tested everything with a bench power supply, then installed it in the car. With an extra set of hands it wasn’t a big deal, but I’m not sure if I could have done it alone. If the ...

Re: Fender Skirts
Thanks, guys. The original staples were still in the skirts (along with little bits of leftover skirt material). I pulled the staples out, straightened them, then reinstalled them with the new gaskets and trimmed the gaskets to length when I was finished. It wasn’t quick, but it turned out great and...

Re: Fender Skirts
About that rubber gasket on the fender skirts... I just had my car repainted and I ordered new gaskets. I can’t find anything in the body manual or service manual about installing them. It looks like the ends may need to be cut to length, & the gasket possibly glued on. Does anyone have any know...

Re: 64 passenger window motor
If it’s broke, why not fix it all the way? Take the motor and regulator out of the door, clean out all of the old, dried grease (someone actually liberally greased the spring in mine), lube the gear and rollers with new grease and the guides with some DuPont silicone/Teflon spray. As long as the mot...

Re: 65 vacuum canister/hose for AC/heat
I don’t know what kind of time you want to put into the car, but if you’re looking for a hobby you’ve found a good one. Taking the dash out isn’t difficult, it just requires time and patience. If you do it, take more notes and photos than you think you’ll need because they’ll come in handy. You can ...

Re: 1966 Assembly Manual by Jim Osborn
I may be able to help with specific questions. I just replaced every vacuum hose in my ‘65 and took a ton of photos while I was at it. In the end, I found that the easiest way was to buy a roll of each of the 3 sizes of tubing and replace each one, one at a time, and follow the original path. I used...

Re: Heater Box
Some of the actuators are yh1665 and some are yh161. In Paul’s photo you can see that the defrost actuator (on top of the heater box) is different from the ac door actuator on the side. The only 2 that I don’t think Motorcraft has a replacement for are the ac controller next to the steering column a...

Re: Heater Box
Yep, left hand heater vent like John said. If you’re replacing your vacuum lines, it’s a green line. It comes from the vent control ‘pie wheel’ as a tan line, then tees into 2 green lines, 1 each for the left and right heater vent.

Re: Speedometer not working
Congratulations on the car! I’m sure you’ll have a great time with it. Your problem is a common one, use the search feature to look it up and I’m sure you’ll find the answer to your problem with detailed instructions on how to fix it. It may be as simple as the cable needing lubrication, or it may b...

Re: Heater Box
I’m not sure which one you’re referring to. On my 65 AC car there is one on top of the heater box that controls airflow through the heater core, but the box itself bolts directly to the firewall. Can you post a picture of the one you’re asking about?

Re: Rear power window 64
Did you get it? If not, I went back to look at my notes for more help. The motor/regulator and the window go in as 2 separate pieces. To install the motor, have the assembly in the ‘down’ position and insert the motor into the window housing making sure to start the roller in the channel. Tighten do...
