I run an MSD Atomic. I put the sensor on the passenger side downpipe of the exhaust "H-pipe" approx 3 inches from the flange mounted at approx 25 degrees tilt toward the fender. Be sure to mount in a manner that does not interfere with getting a socket on the exhaust flange.

Scott: I put an MSD Atomic EFI system on my 64 a couple of years ago and had the same nasty "motorboat" injector noise surprise you did. I installed a damper from Marren Fuel Injection www.injector.com and it quieted the noise a bit, but it could use another and they are pretty pricey-arou...

Put Pertronics Ignitors in both of my Birds after the Mallory optical units kept blowing out. Fine part.

Redstangbob has it right. Easiest way in is to remove the left inner fender. This gives easy access to the rag joint bolts, shift linkage, column mounting bolts, etc. But beware - it's easy to break nut retainers if you don't dress and lube those bolts - take your time. I installed the unit from Classic Auto Air while doing a complete resto. on my '64 this past fall. Very pleased with it. It's light, quiet and energy efficient. About $800 for the complete kit. The only thing original to the car now is the evaporator. It got the acid test today - New Orleans, Midday...
