Seat Belt Color?
Hello, On my 64, I have silver light blue interior and black carpeting. I have seat belts in the front, but think they were installed after the fact. (I have the gate release which does not list seat belts as an option (they were optional at that time, weren't they?) I say after the fact because the...

Initial Timing, Total Timing, and Timing "Curve"
Up until a few days ago, I thought I knew all I needed to know about ignition timing. It started with my replacing my points with Pertronix Ignitor and Flamethrower coil. Once that was done, I hauled out my timing light and adjusted the timing to 8 degrees BTDC. Everything went well until I noticed ...

64 - Fuel Tank vs. Fuel Pump
Hi Guys, My 64 won't start and I think it's an issue with fuel delivery. I was convinced that I have a faulty fuel pump, but then I started to think that maybe there is debris in my 53 year old that is clogging the fuel line at the fuel tank? To troubleshoot, I disconnected the fuel line at the carb...

Looking for Options on Door Panel Repair
Hi Guys, I wanted to get some options on the door panels for my 64. The driver's side has a gaping hole in the arm rest, which was covered with duct tape when I purchased the car. I contacted a couple of vinyl repair places and one quoted $300 for the repair. I know I can buy a pair of door panels f...

Help with Installing Seat Belts
Hello All,
I'm planning on installing lap belts in the back seat of my 64. If anyone has done the same and has any advice, input, photos, suggestions or any other help at all, please reply.

Power Seat
I have an issue with my power seat. While working on the car and just generally checking it out, I tried the power seat. I moved the lever and the seat went forward. I then moved the switch in the opposite direction and - the seat wouldn't move of course. Now, I'm just a tad closer to the steering w...

64 Thunderbird ROT (Build) Sheet
Hi guys, Found my ROT sheet behind the rear passenger's seat back. I was able to decipher the codes, but in the remarks section was the following: "F COAT." I thought the F was a P at first, but on closer inspection, it looks like an F. Does anyone know what the designation F COAT would me...

Re: New Owner/New Member
Turns out the information in the owners manual was for a different car! As I was doing the research on the first owner's name, I was about to send an email to someone I thought may be related to the original owner. Before I composed the email, I said, let me look at the info in the owner's manual on...

Hi Guys, I finally got my 64 Thunderbird, that I've been dreaming of owning for years. Now that I have a Thunderbird, I hope to post fairly often with questions. One question I have has to do with my date of manufacture. The date code on my car is 25K. I understand that is October 25. But, I just wa...
